She departed this life Thursday, September 15, 2005 at Potosi Manor, having reached the age of ninety-one years, two months and thirty days. Frances was united in marriage to William Fred Tiefenauer of October 25, 1936 in Hillsboro, Missouri. This union was blessed with six children. Frances is survived by three sons; Calbert Tiefenauer and wife Carolyn of Caledonia; Frederick "Max" Tiefenauer and wife Alma of Caledonia, MIssouri and John Tiefenauer and wife Jean of Greenfield, Massachusetts; two daughters-in-law, Ellen Tiefenauer of Caledonia and Denise Tiefenauer of Caledonia; one sister, Eleanor Bell of St. Louis, Missouri; one brother, James Hockinghomer and wife Ruth of Arnold, Missouri; twenty grandchildren; thirty-two great grandchildren; also by many other relatives and friends. Frances was preceded in death by her parents; husband, William Fred Tiefenauer; one daughter, Mary Jane Tiefenauer; two sons, Joseph Tiefenauer and Donald Tiefenauer; one sister, Bessie Powell; one infant brother, Charles Hockinghomer, one brother-in-law, Robert Bell; one grandchild and three great-grandchildren. Frances loved to read, write, sew and study history. She wrote cookbooks, published a story, and used to write for "The Independent-Journal." Frances was a Sunday school teacher at the Bellevue Presbyterian Church, where she attended church for many years. She also enjoyed the beauty of all flowers. Frances was a fifty year plus member of the Order of Easter Star #321 and was very active in all of the activities. Frances was a remarkable person not only for her longevity, but for the intensity and clarity of focus with which she lived her life. She will always be remembered for the love she shared. Visitation was held Friday, September 16, 2005 from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the Moore Funeral Home, Potosi, Missouri and Saturday, September 17, 2005, 2005 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Bellevue Presbyterian Church, Caledonia, Missouri. Funeral services were held Saturday, September 17, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. at the Bellevue Presbyterian Church, Caledonia, Missouri with Rev. Compton James Ramsawh officiating. Serving as pallbearers were: Gary Tiefenauer, Joe Tiefenauer, Cal Tiefenauer, Steve Tiefenauer, Joe Jackson Tiefenauer and David Tiefenauer. Burial took place at the Bellevue Presbyterian Cemetery, Caledonia, Missouri. Services were entrusted to the care and direction of the Moore Funeral Home, 105 Clark Street, Potosi, Missouri.
