She was born January 13, 1924 at Caledonia to the late Claude and Nora (Akers) Huitt. She was preceded in death by her husband, Oran L. Richards; a son, Edward R. Richards and a sister, Christine Hudson. She was a member of the Desloge First Baptist Church. She is survived by two sons, Gerald and wife Geraldine Richards, Raytown, MO and Allen (Barbara) Richards, Decatur, IL; a daughter, Sherri (Rick) McKinney, St. Clair, MO; brothers and sisters, Doris (Amos) Blunt, Desloge, MO; Andy Huitt, Doe Run, MO; Maydean (Jack) Johnson, Barnhart, MO; Mary Wells, Farmington, MO, and Wayne Huitt, Oklahoma; a sister-in-law, Florence Green of Desloge; other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held at C.Z. Boyer & Sons Funeral Home Chapel, Desloge, 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 6, 2005. Interment was in St. Francois Memorial Park.
