He departed this life on Sunday, May 14, 2006 at the Washington County Memorial Hospital in Potosi, having reached the age of sixty-five years, three months and thirteen days. Wayne is survived by three daughters, Barbara Jean Stout and husband Bruce of Vevay, Indiana, Tammy Lynette Drennen of Pilot Knob, Missouri and Helena Charitee Price and husband Gary of St. Louis; two sons, Gary Carr of Warrenton, Missouri and Rodney Carr of Jefferson City, Missouri; four sisters, Ruthie Williamson and husband "Sonny" of Mineral Point; Peggy Brand of Potosi; Phyllis Scott and husband Marvin "Junior" of Bismarck and Barbara "Bobbi" Tynes and husband Tony of Vichy, Missouri; four brothers, Marvin Drennen and wife Alma, Terry Drennen and Lennus Drennen and wife Debbie, all of Mineral Point and Lee Drennen and wife Nancy of Cadet; seven grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, friends and especially the loving and caring staff at Georgian Gardens. Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, Nadine Rea, Bonnie Drennen, Marlene Wilkerson, an infant brother and a grandchild. Wayne had been self-employed as a truck driver during his working years and enjoyed watching stock car racing and participated for years by driving his own cars. He liked to watch the birds out the windows and was always ready to enjoy a cup of coffee. Wayne loved to visit with his family, always laughing and would jokingly argue with most everyone. Wayne enjoyed watching all types of television shows and Cardinal baseball. Some of the greatest highlights for Wayne were the many trips to Busch Stadium and participating with his many friends in the Senior Olympics, where Wayne was always cheered on by his special fan club, the "Ambassadors" from Farmington High School. Visitation was held Tuesday, May 16, 2006 from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. and Wednesday, May 17, 2006 from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Moore Funeral Home, Potosi, Missouri. Funeral services were held Wednesday, May 17, 2006 at 1:00 p.m. at the Moore Memorial Chapel, Potosi, Missouri with Rev. Jim Cartee officiating. Serving as pallbearers were: Ralph Drennen, Jimmy "Donk" Drennen, Mark "Woody" Drennen, Timmy Glore, Jerry "Bud" Rea and Lennus "Shortie" Drennen, Jr. Burial took place in the New Diggins Cemetery, Mineral Point, Missouri.
