He departed this life Tuesday, May 9, 2006 having reached the age of forty-three years, nine months and twenty-two days. Eric is survived by his father, Robert Barton and friend Loretta Faye "Joan" Barton of Irondale; mother Rosetta K. (Smith) Peatsch and friend Don Peatsch of Chillicothe, Illinois; fiance' Mona Gagare of El Paso, Texas; brother, Bret Richard Barton of Germany; two sisters, Cara R. Media and husband Ray of Fort Stewart, Hinesville, Georgia and Eden Barton of Chillicothe, IL; three aunts, Brenda Guggenberger and husband Edward of Bismarck; Rhonda Wimberly and husband Larry of Grove, Oklahoma and Theresa Edgar anbd husband Jim of Manhattan Beach, California; two uncles, Mike Barton and wife Annie of Potosi and Charles Morris of Van Nuys, California; three step-children, Krystal, Abraham and Kort, all of El Paso, Texas; also surviving are nieces, nephews, cousins, other relataives and many friends. Eric was preceded in death by a brother, Ryan Bernard Barton; paternal grandparents, Robert and Ruth Barton; maternal grandparents, Leona Haas and Elmer Smith; uncles, Gene Morris and James Morris and an aunt, Rosalee Peeler. Eric loved all types of sports and spending time with Mona his fiance' and her children. He worked as a truck driver for R.G.B. Truck Lines for many years and enjoyed traveling all over the country. Many of Eric's friends will remember him when he was a puppeter traveling throughout the United States entertaining children at school. Eric was a very cheerful, outgoing, friendly man who will be very deeply missed by all of his family and many friends. Visitation was held Saturday, June 10, 2006 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Moore Funeral Home, Irondale, Missouri. A memorial service was held Saturday, June 10, 2006 at 1:00 p.m. at the Moore Memorial Chapel, Irondale, Missouri with Ray Wecker officiating. Burial took place in the Big River Cemetery Irondale, Missouri. Services were entrusted to the care and direction of the Moore Funeral Homes, 104 Oak Street, Irondale, Missouri.
