He was the son of the late Vernon Brotherton and Pearline (Crites) Brotherton. Billy departed this life on Saturday, May 27, 2006 at the Jefferson Memorial Hospital in Festus, Missouri having reached the age of sixty-six years, three months and twenty-five days. Billy was united in marriage to Sharon Ivy Province on April 25, 1992 in Irondale, Missouri. Billy is survived by his wife, Sharon Ivy Brotherton of Irondale, Missouri; three daughters, Kelly Jean Plaszczyk and husband John of Arnold, Missouri, Tracy Laws and husband Tim of Arnold, Missouri, Leah Mills and husband Greg of Irondale, Missouri; son, Shawn Brotherton of Germantown, Maryland; five sisters, Patsy Ruth Cureton and husband Delmar of Fredricktown, Missouri, Jeanie Viviano and husband Vito of Sun City, Florida, Janet Shearrer and husband Craig of Patterson, Missouri, Brenda Sullivan and husband Sandy of Farmington, Missouri, Helen Peeler and husband David of Festus, Missouri; two brothers, Larry Brotherton and wife Mary Jane of Marquand, Missouri, Jerry Brotherton and wife Beverly Ann of Fredricktown, Missouri; nine grandchildren, great grandchild, Kellin, friends, Leo Barton and Ralph Strothers. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Toby and Vernon Brotherton. Billy enlisted in the United States Navy on February 19, 1957 and received an honorable discharge on February 18, 1963. He worked as a truck driver for a sanitation service for many years and attended the Church of Nazarene, Irondale, Missouri. Billy enjoyed being in the outdoors going fishing, hunting squirrels, and taking float trips. He loved his family and spending time with them, he will be deeply missed by all. Visitation was held Tuesday, May 30, 2006 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Moore Funeral Home, Irondale, Missouri. A funeral service was held Wednesday, May 31, 2006 at 11:00 AM at the Church of the Nazarene, Irondale, Missouri with Reverend Darrell Young officiating. Burial took place in the Wallen Cemetery, Irondale, Missouri, with full military honors as a final tribute of appreciation of his service to this country. Serving as pallbearers were Tim Laws, Josh Laws, Dilan Laws, Travis Laws, Dusty Laws and David Brotherton.
