She was born November 11, 1919 at Belgrade, Missouri, a daughter of the late Otto B. and Fannie (Adams) Farrell. On December 6, 1941 Marie was united in marriage to Cecil J. Sutton in St. Louis, Missouri. They shared over sixty-four years of marriage together. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother and great-grandmother. Nothing was more important to her than her family and her church. She was a member of the Caledonia United Methodist Church. In addition to her parents, Marie was preceded in death by her step-mother, Leona Farrell; a step-brother, Thomas Wilkinson and two step-sisters, Eva Wilkinson and Hazel Walters. Those who remain to mourn the passing of her life include her husband Cecil J. Sutton of Belgrade; three sons, Cecil Robert Sutton and his wife Bernadine of Monroe, Georgia; James Ronald Sutton of Belgrade and Larry Joe Sutton and wife Darlene of Belgrade; a foster sister, Polly Jinkerson of Belgrade; six grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews and many other relatives and friends who will sadly miss her. Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, March 7, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. at the Caledonia United Methodist Church with Rev. Linda Nelson officiating. Serving as pallbearers were: Tim Allen, Kyle Brown, Jason Underwood, Jeff Underwood, Wayne Sutton and Steve Sutton. Interment and final prayers were held in Caledonia Methodist Cemetery. All arrangements were entrusted to the care and direction of the Britton Funeral Home of Potosi. Independent Journal, Potosi, MO, Thursday, March 16, 2006
