This is based on the obits of James H. Beck , Mary Ella Farrow Beck and Leonard C. Beck and census records. I believe that Minnie's parents are James and Mary Ella (Farrow) Beck. Leonard's obit mentions his sister "Mrs. Eli (Minnie) Portell of Bonne Terre". James' s obit list of his children includes "Mrs. Eli Portell of Bonne Terre" and "Leonard Beck. of St. Louis". Mary's obit list of children mentions "Mrs. Eli Portell of Bonne Terre" and "Leonard Beck of St. Louis". Then at the bottom of the obit it mentions those attending from Bonne Terre. In this list includes "Mr. and Mrs. Earl Portell, Mr. and Mrs. Eli Portell, Clyde Portell, Mrss Leona Portell, James, Ralph, Harold, and Dorothy Marie Portell". According to the census records these are some of the children of Eli and Minnie Beck Portell. Also James and Mary Beck were still living in Liberty Township, Washington County in the 1900 cens! us. The reason why I am tracking these families is because James H Beck is my g-grandfather, Joseph Beck, brother.
