He was born January 21, 1928 in Irondale, MO the son of Joseph and Mary Anna (Meek) Province. Jewell graduated from Irondale High School in 1944 and went off to serve his country in the Merchant Marines and Marine Corp (1945). He attended Flat River Junior College and CMSU where he met his college sweetheart, Peggy Johnson. In 1950 he received his accounting degree from MU and married Peggy in Carrollton, MO. He retired as VP from Business Men's Assurance Co. after 36 years. He achieved both CLU and FLMI status. Jewell loved the outdoors and operating his Christmas Tree Farm (Mule Tree Farm). He was a member of the National, Mid-America and Missouri Christmas Tree Associations. The United Methodist Church played a large role in his faith journey. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Warrensburg, where he served as Chairman of the board of Trustees, President of the Men's Club, and member of Church Council and served on the Methodist Benevolent Association -West Conference. He enjoyed traveling abroad, birds, genealogy, Methodist history and most of all spending time with his grandchildren. Mr. Province is survived by his wife Peggy, of the home; two children, Keith Province and wife Regina and Karla Snider and husband Chad, both of Lee's Summit, MO; four grandchildren, Paul Province, Luke Province, Grant Snider and Brook Snider. Jewell was preceded in death by his parents, an infant daughter, Kay Ann and two brothers, Clay Province and Paul Province. Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, September 3, 2005 at the First United Methodist Church in Warrensburg, MO. Burial was at 3:30 p.m. Saturday at Coloma Cemetery, Coloma, MO with full military honors. Arrangements were by Williams Funeral Chapel, Warrensburg, MO.
