His well-known CB Handle was "Grade Checker." He was a 50 year member of Union Local 718. Survivors include his wife, Ruthann (Johnston) Coffman, Bonne Terre; four children, Carol (husband Don ) Kemper, DeSoto; Randall Coffman and friend Jack, Lebanon, MO; Jeff (wife Rhonda) Coffman, Bonne Terre, and Mark Coffman and fiancee' Crystal Eaton, Bonne Terre; two grandchildren, Bill (Brenda) Nickelson, DeSoto and Nicole Engel, Bonne Terre; five great-grandchildren, Bill Jr., and Brittany Nickelson, Trinity, Billy and Zack Engel; a sister, Cleo (James) Reese, Farmington; sister-in-law, Maxine Coffman, Potosi; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers, Albert, Robert, Don, Melvin and Billy and a sister, Edith. Funeral services were 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 23, 2005 from C.Z. Boyer & Son Chapel, Bonne Terre, with Rev. Jeff Richards officiating. Burial was in St. Francois Memorial Park, Farmington. Arrangements were by C.Z. Boyer & Son Funeral Home, Bonne Terre.
