There he lived for a number of years and then moved to St Louis MO and also lived in other towns in MO. About 1886 he moved to a farm in Shiloh Valley Township where the family lived for many years. He married Mary E Hafley of Gasconade County, MO (Hermann) in 1874. Mary was the daughter of Jacob Haefle and Elizabeth Ogden of Gasconade Co, MO.
