Mr. Daugherty was a retired hoisting engineer for Simpson Gravel Co. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Tiff, MO; St. Vincent De Paul Society, Hoisting Engineer Local 513 and was A.D.A. Chairperson for St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Tiff, MO. Survivors include his wife, the former Catherine Pratt, Blackwell; two sons, Joseph (wife Clarice) Daugherty, Jr., St. Peters, and Thomas (Barbara) Daugherty, O'Fallon; five daughters, Joyce (Deacon Steve) Politte, Cadet; Regina (George) Pinson, Cannon Mines; Catherine (Rick) Blase, Hillsboro; Margaret Pinson, Festus and Bernadette (Keith) Brotherton, Hermitage, MO; five brothers, Joseph "Joe" (Juanita) Daugherty, Cadet; Tom (Marie) Daugherty, DeSoto; Cecil Daugherty, Florida; Mike "Mick" (Mary Jo) Daugherty, Florissant and Regis (Christine) Daugherty, Cannon Mines; four sisters, Sister Marie Daugherty, St. Louis; Helen (Edward "Buz") Sanders, Ste. Genevieve; Lucy (William "Bill") Lally, Florissant and Patricia (William "Bill") Meyer, Ohio; twenty grandchidlren, eleven great-grandchildren, other relatives and many friends. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, James D. Daugherty. Funeral Mass was at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 30, 2005 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Tiff, with Father Ted Pieper celebrating. Burial was in St. Stephen's Cemetery, Richwoods.
