Wednesday, March 23, 2005 Davy departed this life at his residence in Valles Mines, Missouri having reached the age of fifty-four years, 10 months and 17 days. December 6, 1969 Davy was united in marriage to Reba Garrett at Springtown, Missouri. They have resided at Valles Mines for the past twenty years. Together they shared over 35 years of marriage. Davy was a loving husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend to many. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Vernon Eugene Goodson. Among those who remain to mourn his passing from this life are his loving and devoted wife Reba, stepson Robert Irby and wife Michelle of Bonne Terre; two brothers, William Goodson and wife Rita of Potosi, and Donnie Goodson and wife Donna of Valley Mines; two sisters, Barbara Diane Cain and husband Randy of Cadet and Debora Darlene Stringer and husband Chris of Hopewell; two grandsons, Robert Allen Irby and Joshua Tyler Irby; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other family members and many dear friends who will sadly miss him. Funeral services were conducted Saturday, March 26, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. at the Britton Chapel in Potosi with Rev. Wayne Kean officiating. Honoring Davy as pallbearers were: Nathan Goodson, Mickey Goodson, Denny Goodson, Rob Irby, Richard Hammers and Jason Blair. Interment and final prayers were held at New Diggins Cemetery at Mineral Point, Missouri. All arrangements were entrusted to the care of the Britton Funeral Home of Potosi.
