She departed this life Saturday, April 9, 2005 at Des Peres Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri, having reached the age of eighty-three years, nine months and seventeen days. Mary was united in marriage to Freddy "Ted" Skiles on August 5, 1940 and to this union Irene Skiles was born. After Ted's death Mary was united in marriage to James William Johnson on May 20, 1943 and to this union Ava Johnson was born. She is survived by her two daughters, Irene Woods and husband James "Milton" of Mineral Point and Ava Bievenue and husband Geroge of Baldwin, Illinois; four grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by two husbands, Frederick William "Ted" Skiles and James William Johnson, five brothers; Roy, Andrew, Frank, Melvin Jack, and Eugene Joe Cain; four sisters; Martha Johnson, Ava Lechner, Ollie Cain, and Gladys Deterding and two grandchildren, Sheila Worley and Michelle Woods. Mary will long be remembered for her flower garden and spoiling Irene and Miton's dogs. She loved watching and feeding the birds, and reading her Bible. Mary enjoyed watching television, especially when her soap operas were on. She was a faithful supporter and lifetime member of the Michelle Woods Foundation. Most of all she loved being a good mother, grandmother and mother-in-law. Visitation was held 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 12, 2005 and 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 13, 2005 at the Moore Funeral Home in Potosi, Missouri. Funeral services were conducted at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 13, 2005 with Pastor Lindell Johnson officiating. Serving as pallbearers were: Rusty Bievenue, Dwayne Bievenue, Chris Robert, Nathan Wilson, Bryan Jausel and Clarence Woods, Jr. Burial took place at the Hopewell Cemeery, Wednesday, April 13, 2005 at 12:00 noon. Services were entrusted to the care and direction of the Moore Funeral Home, 105 Clark Street, Potosi, Missouri. Independent Journal, Potosi, MO, Thursday, April 21, 2005
