She was born June 2, 1920 at Belgrade, Missouri, a daughter of the late Jesse James and Jettie Mae (Parks) Owens. In addition to her parents, Ruth was preceded in death by one son, Tyler Norton; four sisters, Eunice Bowles, Anna Horton, Alma McGee and Mabel Walsh; two brothers, Junior Ralph Owens and William Owens. Those who remain to mourn her passing include her daughter, Linda Swindle and husband Charles of Bonne Terre; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren; a brother, Paul Owens of DeSoto; a sister, Norma Belfield of Caledonia; nieces, nephews and many other relatives and friends who will sadly miss her. Funeral services were conducted at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 16, 2005 at the Britton Chapel, Potosi, with Rev. John Edwards officiating. Serving as pallbearers were: Chuck Hampton, Laura Roberts, Arnold Brewer, Babette Vines and John Kuehn. Interment was in the Wright Cemetery under the direction of the Britton Funeral Home of Potosi.
