She departed this life Sunday, November 13, 2005 at Potosi Manor having reached the age of ninety-six years, five months and sixteen days. Islo was united in marriage to Lewis E. Smith on September 7, 1930 in Elvins, Missouri and this union was blessed with a son. Islo is survived by her son, Allan Smith, Sr. and wife Peggy of Arnold, Missouri; three grandchildren, Janice May Riggins and husband Bill of Festus, Missouri; Allan L. Smith, Jr. of Crystal City, Missouri and Christopher Lynn Smith and wife Tracy of Festus, Missouri; a great-grandson Lewis Brown Smith and many good friends and care givers at Potosi Manor. Islo was preceded in death by her parents, husband Lewis E. Smith; a sister, Lesta Imhoff and two brothers, Elmo and Floyd Boushon. Islo was a longtime member of the Potosi United Methodist Church, Brown Chapter Order of the Eastern Star, and was also active in four different ladies groups through the years. Islo taught for eighteen years at Potosi Junior High School and loved her work. She also enjoyed traveling with her husband Lewis to Florida and spending months at a time there. Islo loved reading all types of books. Most of all, she cherished her many friends and being able to visit with them. Visitation was held Tuesday, November 15, 2005 from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the Moore Funeral Home, Potosi, Missouri. Funeral services were held Wednesday, November 16, 2005 at 1:00 p.m. at the Moore Memorial Chapel, Potosi, Missouri with Rev. Jerry Compton officiating. Burial took place at the Caledonia Methodist Cemetery. Services were entrusted to the care and direction of the Moore Funeral Home, 105 Clark Street, Potosi, Missouri.
