Does anyone have any family members from Jefferson County that they would like to write a story to put in about their ancestors? The Jefferson County Genealogical Society (JCGS) is working with Acclaim Press to publish the book. They decide if the cutoff date will be prolonged. JCGS is expecting and planning on the August deadline being extended. However, the final decision is made by Acclaim Press. The Jefferson County Book project originally started with a July 31st deadline. Unfortunately, I didn’t think to post about the book until the July 31st deadline was almost upon us. So I waited until the beginning of August. We want to have as many family submissions as possible. So far, we have received some wonderful family submissions with awesome photographs. I’m so excited about the project. It is really taking off. If possible, please help us get the word out. The book project has been in the local papers. Plus brochures are being mailed too many Jefferson County residence. However, because the county is so populated, and the expense is so high for mailings. Unfortunately, Acclaim Press is not mailing out brochures to every Jefferson County resident. For those who are local, if your business, church or organization would allow us to post flyers or brochures about the book project, please let me know. I will make sure you receive a flyer for posting and/or brochures for handouts. Thanks for your interest, and please consider submitting a story of your family. In the next few days, I will post about the writing workshop we have planned. This is for local individuals who would like to submit a family story, but don’t know how to begin.
