Bowen, 53 of Mundelein, Illinois, died March 31, 1985 at the Lake Forest Hospital. He was born January 29, 1932 in Leadwood. He was preceded in death by his father, Albert Bowen and one brother, Bob Bowen. Mr. Bowen lived in the Half Day Mundelein area for the past 30 years. He was a veteran of the United States Army, serving during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the American Legion Post No. 2910. Mr. Bowen had been a self-employed landscape architect of the Northshore for many years. He is survived by his wife, Patricia Bowen; three sons: Jeffery Bowen of Orlando, Florida; Tim Bowen and David Bowen, both of Mundelein, Illinois; one granddaughter; his mother, Mrs. Mary Bowen, of Valley Park, Mo.; four sisters: Blanche (Mrs. Finis Bobbett) of Leadwood, Marguerite (Mrs. Melvin Mason) of Steelville, Janet (Mrs. Gerry Joiner) of Ballwin and Susan (Mrs. John Beardsley) of Springfield and six brothers: Kennard Bowen, of New Braunfels, Texas; Pres Bowen of Denver, Colorado; Frank Bowen, of Mineral Point; Harold Bowen, of Bismarck; John Bowen, of Eureka and Danny Bowen, of Cedar Hill, all in Missouri. Funeral services were held 11 A.M. April 4 at the Burnett-Dane Funeral Home in Libertyville, Illinois, with Rev. Charles Fleck Jr., officiating. Burial was at Highland Memorial Park at Libertyville, Illinois.
