"Tommie" Wilson of Route 2, Potosi, was born on July 3, 1889 in Washington County, a son of the late Asberry and Janie Perkins Wilson, and died at the Washington County Memorial Hospital, Potosi, on February 6, 1971, at the age of 81 years. Mr. Wilson was united in marriage to Emma Fitzwater and to this union 3 children were born. Surviving are: his wife, Emma, of Route 2, Potosi; two sons: Theodore "Ted" Wilson and Haskel "Bud" Wilson, both of St. Louis; a daughter, Lena (Mrs. William) Taylor of Ferguson, Missouri; nine grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. Mr. Wilson was a member of the White Oak Grove Baptist Church and a veteran of World War I. Funeral services were conducted from the White Oak Grove Baptist Church on Tuesday, February 9, at 1 p.m. with Elder Ralph Gibson officiating. Interment was held in the Church Cemetery with Don Sparks Funeral Home in charge of all the arrangements.
