Gabriel died in 1863 but I have not found Martha's place and date of death. I am trying to connect the dots to Chasteen because his bio said he had 5 sisters and 2 brothers. There was a Henry Hicks in the county with a son Henry but he is not related to Chasteen because he said he was from Georgia. I believe Martha was Methodist based on her daughter being married by a Methodist Minister. Is there any chance at all that the local church might still have records? Also, if you find anything on the Hicks or Barrons in the book, I may have to buy it. If you need my email, it is [email protected] Thank you very much for your help. I already have his will after his death and I would think that is what this probate record is about. I'm trying to determine that he is the brother to my ggg grandmother, and I was hoping to find an obituary. The State Historical Society doesn't have a paper that old. I'm sure for a fee, someone at the courthouse in Potosi will copy and send them to you. By the way, Chasteen is buried in Bellevue Cemetery with several family members.
