I don't think Sharon was of school age at that time though. I think she just went to school with Mom each day. Was your maiden name Abram? I remember when Abram's lived there. My Grandmother's sister Lelia was married to Roy Abram. I lived at Stony Point for about 30 years but have been gone from down there for quite a while now. I still keep up with everyone down there though as I have many relatives still there.

Mr. Flowers??? and Mr. Moses were my teachers, we moved to St. Louis and came back for another year when I was in sixth grade. We owned a farm in a little hollow which I believe is near the Huff Cemetery. Are you possibly related to Curt Jarvis? I went to school with some of his children, and my grandmother, Bessie Bradford lived in a little house on his property. Just curious. Living in Potosi was some of the happiest times of my life!

She departed this life Saturday, April 9, 2005 at Des Peres Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri, having reached the age of eighty-three years, nine months and seventeen days. Mary was united in marriage to Freddy "Ted" Skiles on August 5, 1940 and to this union Irene Skiles was born. After Ted's death Mary was united in marriage to James William Johnson on May 20, 1943 and to this union Ava Johnson was born. She is survived by her two daughters, Irene Woods and husband James "Milton" of Mineral Point and Ava Bievenue and husband Geroge of Baldwin, Illinois; four grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by two husbands, Frederick William "Ted" Skiles and James William Johnson, five brothers; Roy, Andrew, Frank, Melvin Jack, and Eugene Joe Cain; four sisters; Martha Johnson, Ava Lechner, Ollie Cain, and Gladys Deterding and two grandchildren, Sheila Worley and Michelle Woods. Mary will long be remembered for her flower garden and spoiling Irene and Miton's dogs. She loved watching and feeding the birds, and reading her Bible. Mary enjoyed watching television, especially when her soap operas were on. She was a faithful supporter and lifetime member of the Michelle Woods Foundation. Most of all she loved being a good mother, grandmother and mother-in-law. Visitation was held 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 12, 2005 and 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 13, 2005 at the Moore Funeral Home in Potosi, Missouri. Lil is survived by a daughter, Ruth Ann Allen and husband Ignacio Correa of Temecula, California; a son, James "Jim" David Allen and wife Chloe of Festus, Missouri; three sisters, Edith Charboneau and husband Aaron of Sullivan; Lois Reese of Farmington, and Dorothy Notgrass of Braggadocio, Missouri; three grandchildren, Jeffrey Thomas Cummins and wife Jennifer of Memphis, Tennessee; Elizabeth Kay (Allen) KuyKendall and husband Larry of Jackson, Missouri, and Eric James Allen and wife DeAmbra of Herculaneum, Missouri; five great-grandchildren, Lauren and Thomas Cummins of Memphis, Tennessee; Allison and Logan KuyKendall of Jackson, Missouri and Miranda Allen of Herculaneum, Missouri and by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear and special friends. In addition to her parents and husband, Lil was also preceded in death by two daughters, Anita Allen and Marita Allen and three brothers, Norman, Howard, and Edward Bay, Jr. Lil had a great love for her Savior and Lord and was a Charter member of the Bates Creek Baptist church. Lil loved to spend time reading all types of interesting books and playing Scrabble. She was a great leader with the 4-H and the Girl Scouts of America. She loved to spend time quilting and got great satisfaction in passing them on to others and seeing the joy on their faces. Visitation was held Thursday, April 14, 2005 from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. and Friday, April 15, 2005 from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the Moore Funeral Home, Potosi, Missouri. Funeral services were held Friday, April 15, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. at the Moore Memorial Chapel, Potosi, with Rev. Mike Jarvis officiating. Musical selections played were "The Old Rugged Cross" and "In The Sweet By and By." Lil was laid to rest at the Sunset Hill Cemetery, Potosi, next to her husband. Serving as pallbearers were: Eric Allen, Jeff Cummins, David Charboneau, Lynn Kelsey, Dale Allen and Jesse Jarvis. Services were entrusted to the care and direction of the Moore Funeral Homes, 105 Clark Street, Potosi, Missouri.
