This is all I have. Levi M.mar.Elizabeth Jane Isgrig 15 June, 1851. They had a son b 8 Sept 1861 who died 29 Jun 1941. He had a brother named Henry Mitchel who was b. ca. 1828 in MO? and married Jane (maybe Nancy Jane) Isgrig who was b. ca 1833 in MO?. Family history has it that three Isgrig girls m. three Mitchell boys. I have found an Alexander J. Mitchell in the same area as Henry and Levi in Wash. Co., MO. Possible father is Alfred Mitchell who was m. to Iris Pinson and was in Washington Co by 1830. I think Henry and Levi's father was born in Harrison Co., KY, but that's speculation. No coming across the other name you mentioned. Sorry -- Ginny-Kay

My ggg-grandfather was Alfred Mitchell, b: Jun 24 1807 in KY. While young, he came to MO and married Iris F. Pinson (b: 1812 in KY) in Washington Co. in 1830. They had 5 children (Paulina, Lavona, Leander, Margaret, and Willis) before Iris died in 1843. Alfred then remarried to Susan McPeake. Alfred is the only child I have for Willis Mitchell, Jr. I don't have a mother or any siblings. Do you know if your Mitchells are related to Willis, Jr. in any way? Thanks! Deanna

Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/lNB.2ACI/494.1.1.1 Message Board Post: I thank you for your response. I have a possibility Violet Silvers was do Samuel (so James b.ca 1780 in MO). Samuel b. ca. 1816 in MO and married to a Mary A. b. ca 1826 MO. Violet was m. to William Isgrigg b. ca. 1810 in Harrison Co, KY, m. 8 Mar 1832 (?) Wash.Co., MO. They had several children. One was Jane Isgrig who m. Henry Mitchell and had a daughter Mary Jane Mitchell. Another daughter was Elizabeth Jane who married 1) Levi Mitchell (bro. to Henry above)15 June 1851, 2) Brittle Hill m. 2 Nov 1861 and 3) Alexander Birchfield 16 Jan 1881 in Crawford Co., MO. They moved to Monahans, Ward Co., TX. She was called Lizzy. So, I'm researching Silvers, Isgrig/Isgrigg/Isgrigs, etc., Hill, Mitchell. I think most of these started in KY, but I can't prove anything yet. Sincerely, Ginny-Kay

By 1870 all are gone. None can be located. my ancestor: Caroline Mary Wright & her brother Christopher were born after 1860 census. I believe David & Polly died in 1868 or 1869, as Caroline was born in 1865 & Christopher in 1868, Caroline was then adopted by William & Hannah (Griggs) McMurtrey. I only find Caroline & Mary living with their uncle/aunt Brazilla Wright in 1870 (one census says Brazilla is a female/one says male, we have yet to determine possitively his/her sex). Do you have any idea if there was a flu epidemic or flood or something catastophic in 1868-69 in MO, Washington County, Harmony Township??
