    1. Verda Gertrude Goodson nee Pinter
    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: GOODSON, PINTER, DUNCAN, RAINES, LANIUS, STRODT, OWENS, JENKINS Classification: Obituary Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/lNB.2ACI/4283 Message Board Post: Verda Gertrude Pinter was born May 10, 1914 in Hazel Creek, Missouri, the youngest daughter of the late James R. and Lucy Jane (Duncan) Goodson. She departed this life Thursday, March 2, 2006 in Washington, Missouri at the age of ninety-one years. Verda was united in marriage to Joseph Pinter, Sr. on July 26, 1947. Two children were born to this union. Verda leaves to survive her a daughter, Mary Jane Raines of St. Louis, Missouri; a son, Joseph Pinter, Jr. and wife Coleen of Villa Ridge, Missouri; four grandchildren, Ricky and Mike Lanius and Nicole and Nathan Pinter; a dear sister-in-law, Mary; and many other relatives and friends. Verda was a very special aunt to many of her nieces and nephews who lovingly called her "Bubbie." In addition to her parents and husband, Verda was preceded in death by four sisters, Hazel Goodson, Marge Edith Strodt, Myrtle E. Owens and Ethel Mae Jenkins and two brothers, David Goodson and Bill Goodson. After the passing of her husband, Verda lived by herself in the family home. Later she was joined by her daughter, Mary Jane, who moved in with her mother to keep her company and help with her care. As the home became too much of a burden, she sold it and went to live with her son and daughter-in-law in Villa Ridge, Missouri where she was lovingly cared for. After declining health and the need for constant care, she moved to the Cedar Crest Facility in Washington, Missouri where she passed away. Verda was a homemaker and a very talented self-taught seamstress who enjoyed sewing for her family and friends. She also had a love for flowers, especially roses. With her green thumb, she would take a cutting from a flower or rose bush and it would become a beautiful creation in her yard. The family honored her love for roses with a beautiful casketpiece made entirely of red roses. Verda was a remarkable person, not only for her longevity but also for the love and joy she brought to all around her. She will be missed and remembered by all who were privileged to have known her. While her loss brought tears to those left behind, there was a joyous reunion in Heaven. Being the youngest and last living child of Jim Riley and Lucy Jane Goodson, their family has come full circle and is once more complete. Visitation for Verda was held Monday, March 6, 2006 from 4:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the Kutis Affton Funeral Home in St. Louis, Missouri. Funeral services were held Tuesday, March 7, 2006 at 11;30 a.m. at the Kutis Chapel. Burial took place in the Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery. 1. Jasper Farrar and Malinda Todd
    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/lNB.2ACI/4282 Message Board Post: I am trying to connect Jasper Farrar to parents and have found conflicting names and families. I have found in the Mo Marriage Index the following: Jasper J. Farrow and malinda J. Todd, Sept 11, 1853, by Jonas harmon, JP, of Johnson Twp, Washington co. MO. I found the census record for Joseph Farrer, age 30, born in MO, with the following listed: Malinda, age 28, John, age 6, George, age 4, Moses, age 2, and Rebecca, age 6/12's. They are Washington Co., Johnson Twp.. Jasper had died by 1870 as Malinda is remarried to James Hogan. Only Rebecca and Margaret are listed in the household. Where are the boys? I found in the 1850 census, Washington Co., Liberty Twp, page 143, John B. Farrar , age 42, born NC, listed with the following in the household: Mary, age 40, born in KY, Richard Jett, age 20 [all children born MO], Joseth A, age 19, Jasper J., age 16, Newton W., age 16, Wallis H., age 15, Elizabeth R., age 12, Sarah A. D., age 11, Thomas W., age 9, Johnson ! E.. B., age 7, and Walter S. C., age 1. Also in the household is Drusilla Farrar, age 27, born MO. The only one I can find in any 1860 census is Jasper J. if he the same as Joseph who married Malinda Todd. According to to an entry in the book "Crawford County, Missouri, 1829-1987" Malinda Todd married Jasper Farrar and gives same date as listed for Joseph Farrow index. It also gives children as being Moses, Richard, John, Rebecca, and Margaret Rachel. It gives no date, but says Jasper Farrar is burried near Shirley, MO. I also found John B. Farrar in the 1840 cenus of Washinton Co., Liberty Twp., with ages of children corresponding to the 1850 Census. Is this the John Farrar who married Mary Hopkins in 1828? Where did the families go after 1850? Of 10 children, I can only find Jasper after 1850. Any help will be appreciated.
