On August 29, 1970, in the St. Joachim's Catholic Church, Old Mines, he was united in marriage to the former Phyllis Koch and four children were born to this union. Jerry was employed as a craftsman for Buckman Laboratories, Inc. for almost eleven years. He was a Fourth Degree member of the Knight's of Columbus, Washington County Council No. 5936, Old Mines. Jerry leaves to survive his loving and devoted wife, Phyllis Adams of Route 2, Cadet; one daughter, L?A in the family home; three sons, Jerry Lee, Jr., John Chris and Jason all of the famly home; his parents, Rose Ann and Harry Torwegge of Star Route 287, Potosi; two sisters, Patsy (Mrs. Roger Bourbon) of Star Route, Blackwell and Betty Jean Adams, of Star Route 287, Potosi; his grandmother, Ann Cain of Mineral Point; his mother-in-law, Rose Ann Koch of Route 2, Cadet; and a host other relatives and friends who will sadly miss him. Jerry was preceded in death by his father and one brother, Johnny Adams. Prayer services were conducted Friday, June 15, 1984 at 7 p.m. at Gum and Son Chapel, Potosi, led by Fr. Robert Johnston and Fr. Robert Rosebrough. The Knights of Columbus, in memory of their departed brother, presented a posting of the guards from 7 until 9 p.m. on Friday. The Funeral Mass was conducted Saturday, June 16, 1984, 10 a.m. at St. Joachim's Church with Fr. Robert Johnston the celebrant. Interment was in the St. Joachim's Cemetery under the direction of the Gum and Son Funeral Home, Potosi, Missouri. He entered the hospital on Friday, June 8, 1984, had surgery for ulcers Saturday, June 9 and passed away from a heart attack on Monday, June 11. He is survived by his brother Mac Adams, and wife, Pearl. Salem, Mo.; one sister, Edna; two nieces, Jean Henderson and Mary Maffit, and a nephew, John Seyforth. His parents and one sister, Mrs. Hallie Seyforth preceded him in death. Graveside services were held at the Jefferson Barracks Cemetery where interment was made by Hoppe's Funeral Home. "Benny" Coleman of Potosi, Missouri passed away Friday, March 31, 2006 at Georgian Gardens Nursing Center in Potosi, Missouri at the age of 82 years, 11 months and 16 days. He was born in the Pine Valley Area of Potosi, Missouri on April 15, 1923; the sixth child of the family of four girls followed by four boys of Amos Coleman and Oma Katherine (Maness) Coleman. Ben attended the small Hochstatter School in rural Washington County. As a teenager, he worked cutting timber. On February 2, 1943 he was inducted into the United States Army to serve in World War II. Ben entered active duty on February 9, 1943. During his service to his country, he served in Northern France, Rhineland, Ardennes, Normandy and Central Europe. He was awarded a Good Conduct Medal, five Bronze Service Stars, three Overseas Service Bars, a Theatre Campaign Ribbon-Europe and an African Mid-Eastern Theatre Campaign Ribbon and American Service Lapel Buttons. Ben was honorably discharged on December 3, 1945. Soon after returning home from the military service, Ben went to work at the Missouri-Pacific Railroad Car Shops at DeSoto, Missouri. Ben and some other family members later moved to the Augusta, Missouri area to work in the logging industry. When he returned to Washington County, Ben was employed at the heel factor in Potosi. He worked there until the factory closed. Ben was later employed at the Chemingko Mines at Bixby, Missouri. He worked part-time for Owen and Betty Richeson at their Potosi Package and Sporting Goods Store. During that time Ben also raised chickens. On July 2, 1969 Ben was united in marriage in Potosi, Missouri to Reva Muriel Richeson at the home of the Presbyterian pastor, Rev. Francis “F.H.” Daniel. In late 1969 Ben went to work for Vitro Products, Inc., a restaurant furniture manufacturer in St. Louis, Missouri. He was seriously injured there on April 20, 1973 which resulted in the loss of most of his right hand. He returned to work there in August 1973 and remained there until his retirement in mid-April 1985. For a short time following his marriage, Ben raised chickens, followed by geese, and in 1972 he began raising Black Angus cattle and in later years Hereford cattle. For many years Ben had beagle dogs that he took hunting. In the years since his retirement, Ben spent countless hours watching birds, rabbits, squirrels and other animals that ran through the yard and fields. He most enjoyed the time spent with his hunting dogs and in more recent years, his “constant companion” dogs, “Bobby” and the last of which was “Billy” as his companion for 14 years until “Billy’s” death on December 30, 2000. More recently he enjoyed the pet cats “Alley Tom” and later “Mackie Tom.” Ben joined the Potosi United Methodist church in 1974. He was also a member of the Cordia-Humphrey Post 265 of the American Legion in Potosi. During the last few years, Ben accompanied his wife as she would do volunteer work at Potosi Manor and Georgian Gardens Nursing Center in Potosi. He and Muriel were certified hospice-volunteers. Ben was preceded in death by his father, Amos Coleman; his mother, Oma Katherine (Maness) Coleman; four sisters, Francis DeClue, Edith Dieter, Naomi Coleman and Anne Camillo; two brothers, Henry and Roy Coleman; two brothers-in-law, Joe Camillo and Jesse “Bud” Dieter and a former brother-in-law, Gerard Coleman; two sisters-in-law, Leatta (Gough) Coleman-Brock and Mary (Kathcart) Bobbett-Coleman; three nephews, Mark “Chico” Coleman, Roger “Monk” Coleman, and a nephew that died in infancy; also a great-great nephew, Dylan Matthew Portell. Ben is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 36 years, Reva Muriel Richeson-Coleman of Potosi; two stepsons, Joe and wife Kara Richeson of Potosi and James Richeson of Potosi; one brother, Walter and wife Wilma Coleman of DeSoto, Missouri; sister-in-law, Margie Moss of Mineral Point, Missouri and former sister-in-law, Pat Jarvis of Potosi; nine nieces; eight nephews and four first cousins; Melvina (Mrs. Harold) Eckhoff of Mineral Point, Rhoda Garcia of St. Louis, Sadie McMahon of Potosi and Anna Jarvis of Potosi and other relatives that survive. Carolyn was born in New Castle, Indiana, November 1, 1932, daughter of William Thomas, Sr. and Abbie Anna (Sheets) Lorton. On September 16, 1961 she was united in marriage to Olaf Hiorth Hansen and four children came to bless this union. Carolyn is survived by one son, John Hansen and wife Leigh Ann of Richwoods, MO; three daughters, Theresa Ferguson of Richmond, IN; Myrna Wallace and companion, David Brown of Richmond, IN and Janine Brammer and husband Bart of Spring Hill, Tennessee; three sisters, Martha Wine and husband Robert of Raleigh, North Carolina; Mary Collett and husband James of Brazil, IN and Nettie Dungan of Straughn, IN; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; brother and sisters-in-law; nieces and nephews; great and great great nieces and nephews; cousins; other relatives and many friends. Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents William, Sr. and Abbie Lorton; her husband, Olaf Hansen; one brother, William Thomas Lorton, Jr; three sisters, Bettie Myers, Rebecca McCall and Dorothy Downing and eight siblings in infancy. Carolyn was a devout Christian and a member of the Reign of Praise Family Church of St. Clair. She liked to operate the overhead projector fo the church and earned the reputation of being the church "Mom." In addition to serving her family as a devoted wife, mother and homemaker, Carolyn worked as a greeter at the Wal-Mart in Union, MO. She was employed for a time at Votgelsan's Mobil Service Center in St. Clair as well as at Magnet Inc. in Washington, MO. In her spare time, Carolyn enjoyed reading and working crossword puzzles. As a younger woman, she loved to dance and even taught dancing lessons for a time. In later years, she found pleasure in collecting lighthouses. Carolyn was well known as a friendly, outgoing lady who never met a stranger. A devoted and loving mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, sister-in-law, aunt, great and great great aunt, cousin and treasured friend, she will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her and loved her. Funeral services were held at 7:00 p.m. Friday, March 31, 2006 at Russell Colonial Funeral Home in St. Clair with Rev. Robert Adams officiating. Private committal will occur at a later date. Loomis departed this life Wednesday, March 22, 2006. He was born in Belgrade, MO on July 24, 1920. He was preceded in death by his loving parents, Otis L. and Grace E. (Strayer) Loomis; two brothers, Otis L. Jr. and Harold Loomis, and one son, Gregory C. Loomis. He leaves his loving family; wife, Carolyn Loomis of Titusville, Florida and one son, James C. (Colleen) Loomis of St. Louis, MO; two grandsons, Brendan J. Loomis and Sean G. Loomis of St. Louis; former wife, Wilma Cole Loomis of Potosi, and one stepson, Jerry (Charlotte) Breneke of Titusville, FL. Mr. Loomis was a World War II veteran, serving his country in North Africa and Europe and with General Patton’s 3rd Army (1942-1945), receiving the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star. He was a long-time General Contractor, President and Owner of Loomis Construction Co from 1946-1971 in Potosi and Springfield, MO. Mr. Loomis had a host of achievements in building schools, churches, hospitals and private homes throughout Southeast and Southwest Missouri. Clyde could never stop working so he took a retirement job with the Brevard County, FL building inspection department whereby retiring a second time at the age of 80. An Honorarium, “The Clyde Award” was created by the county commissioners for future county employees whom exemplified Clyde’s work ethic. For the 20 years he worked for Brevard County he never missed a day due to sickness. Clyde was a member of the Potosi Presbyterian Church, where he served as a Deacon and later a member of the Titusville, Fl Presbyterian Church. He was also a member of the VFW; Past President of the Potosi Lions Club; Chairman of the Potosi Bi-Centennial (1963); a 32nd Degree Mason and member of the Scottish Rite; Past Chairman of the Ozark Trails Boy Scout District of Southeast Missouri; Past Scoutmaster of Boy Scout Troop 409. Clyde also served as Mayor of Potosi, MO, serving four terms; procured with Governor Warren Hearnes of Missouri the Potosi Housing Authority with 90 units which was named Loomis Heights; and was Chairman of the Authority for 2 years; Charter member of the Washington County Civil Defense Organization; past member of the Washington County, MO Historical Society, and past member of the Washington County, MO Chamber of Commerce. Clyde loved to create and follow through to fruition with buildings and developments. He also strived to help people. His motto was to always do more than is expected of you. He truly followed his own creed.

She was born April 2, 1974 at Fort Wayne, Indiana, daughter of Rebecca (Woodard) Brubaker and Dennis Morris. She was preceded in death by her grandparents and her sister-in-law, Brigetta Skiles Luther. Those who remain to mourn her passing are her husband, Ronnie Skiles Jr.; two children, Ashley Austin and Dustin Cayson; two step-children, Ronnie Skiles III and Savannah Skiles; her parents Rebecca Brubaker and Dennis Morris of Caledonia; one brother, Robert Woodard of St. Louis; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Ronnie and Sally Skiles of Potosi; a brother-in-law, Andy Skiles and wife Betsy of Potosi; a sister-in-law, Andrea McCarty and husband Terry of Mineral Point; nieces; nephews and many other relatives and friends who will sadly miss her. Funeral services wre conducted at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 28, 2006 at the Britton Chapel, Potosi, with Rev. Jerry Compton officiating. Serving as pallbearers were: Jimmy Hardesty, John Spivey, Rob Woodard, Terry McCarty, Steve DeClue, and Robert Moore. Interment and final prayers were held at the Redbud Memorial Gardens, Hwy. 8 West, Potosi, under the care and direction of the Britton Funeral Home of Potosi. In addition to her parents, Ann was preceded in death by two sisters, Helen Martin Ronald and Ruth Martin Ronald. Those who remain to mourn the passing of her life are her nephews, James Ronald and wife Paula of Sugar Land, Texas and Arthur L. Ronald and wife Donna of St. Peters; two nieces, Alma Siedentopf of Knoxville, Tennessee and Rita Thompson and husband Joe of Arnold; nine grandnieces and nephews; also Marie Highley, Rena Bishop, Carol Eckhoff and family, Veat Brooks, Rhonda Bone, Debbie DeClue and many other relatives and friends who will sadly miss her. Funeral services were conducted at 2:00 p.m. Monday, April 3, 2006 at the Britton Chapel in Potosi, with Rev. Russell Dunn and Rev. Myron Laramore officiating. Servng as pallbearers were: Leon Strickland, Bill Maxwell, Dan Robinson, Michael Wilson, Don Micharel Eye and Rodney Eckhoff. He was fortified with the Sacraments of the Holy Mother Church Wednesday, March 29, 2006 at his home surrounded by the love and care of his family. Jerry was seventy-four years, seven months and eight days of age. Jerry was united in Holy Matrimony to Catherine Battreal December 9, 1950 in Pocohontas, Arkansas. They were blessed to have fifty-five years together and a very dear and loving family. Jerry is survived by his loving and devoted wife Catherine Lowe of Cadet; one daughter, Elaine Wilson and husband Tom of Hillsboro; four sons, James Ronald Lowe and wife Marsha of Lawrenceville, Georgia; Gerald Rick Lowe of Atlanta, GA; Ralph Wayne Lowe and wife Ronda of Branson, Missouri and George Stephen Lowe and wife Marla of Atlanta, GA; four sisters, his twin sister Joyce Hartupee and husband James of Cuba, Missouri; Berniece Cresswell and husband Jim of Potosi; Ruth Ann Hill and husband Ron of Potosi and Jeanie Coleman and husband Lindell of Potosi; four brothers, George Lowe and wife Barbara of San Mateo, Florida; Danny Lowe of Union, Missouri; Richard Lowe and wife Dotty of St. Clair, Missouri and Kenneth Lowe and wife Deanna of Beaufort, Missouri; eleven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Marie Lowe of Jackson, Missouri and by many other relatives and dear and special friends. In addition to his parents, Jerry was preceded in death by one brother, Jack Lowe and a special friend and brother-in-law, Roscoe Battreal. Jerry was a long time parishioner of the St. Joachim Catholic Church, Old Mines, Missouri. He enjoyed his church family and was active in its many activities. Jerry loved spending time on the farm, working in the hay, walking throughout the pastures and taking care of cattle. He would spend time relaxing by working in his garden. In addition to his cattle, Jerry loved his dogs, each one was very special to him. Visitation for Jerry was held Thursday, March 29, 2006 from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. and Friday, March 30, 2006 from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. at the Moore Funeral Home, Potosi, Missouri. A funeral mass was celebrated Friday, March 30, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. at the St. Joachim Catholic Church, Old Mines, Missouri with Father Ted Pieper celebrating. Music was provided by the St. Joachim Catholic Church Choir. Final prayers and burial were in the St. Joachim Catholic Church Cemetery, Old Mines, Missouri. Serving as pallbearers were: Ron Lowe, Rick Lowe, Ralph Lowe, George Lowe, Scott Lowe and Jeremy Lowe. At the conclusion of the services, the family and friends were united at the Knights of Columbus Hall, Old Mines, Missouri where they were treated to a luncheon and further fellowship, all sponsored by the Knights of Columbus.
