    3. This is a good resource for anyone that needs births and deaths in Missouri. I found several of my husband's family on the site and a few of my own. Another good site to check is Ed Mackley's website. He has actual images of census and obits, they are not abstracts. It is limited to Missouri and not all years, but it is and invaluable site. And one more that is a good site for information for marriages is Bien Ici, Brian Oster's website. He has marriages that he has abstracted from the marriage records of several Missouri counties. I know that some of you "old timers" know about these, but some "newbies" might be able to use the information. I am sorry though that I do not have the actual address for them, but if you do a Google/Yahoo search for Ed Mackley you will find it listed easily and the same goes for Bien Ici. You can select the County you want and enter a name or just a portion of the surname like Be (Bequette) or just leave the surname blank and it will pull up all the names. On the right if you click on Detail, it will give you the parent's name and where they were born, etc. It starts around 1884. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/lNB.2ACI/4370 Message Board Post: I embedded this question into another post and didn't want it overlooked. I found a reference to a burial at Stafford Graveyard at Kingston Furnace. Has anyone ever heard of it? The burial was in 1884 so the cemetery could be hidden in a cornfield by now - or known by a different name? I can't find it in the cemetery lists. Thanks!

    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Cook, Frazier, Gibson Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/lNB.2ACI/4369 Message Board Post: I found in the death records, Isabel Hearst, age 90, died Dec 20, 1884. She was born in South Carolina and at the time of her death, had been a resident of Missouri for 70 years. Her death cert. lists her as being buried at "Stafford Graveyard" at Kingston Furnace. My questions: I looked in the Wash Co Cemeteries and didn't find Stafford Cemetery/Graveyard. Does anyone know if it exists or goes by a different name now? I didn't find her in the early marriages after 1834. I'm wondering if Isabel Hearst was my ggg-grandmother, Isabel Frazier. She was born in S. Carolina, mid-1790s. Her father was Alexander Frazier. Her sister, Hester, was the 2nd wife of George Hearst (at age 14) - she was widowed by 1822 and married Elias Gibson. Her sister, Annie Frazier, married Joseph Hearst (who was apparently the son of George Hearst and his 1st wife). The Hearst, Frazier (Frazer), and Gibson families all immigrated to the US from Ireland in the 1700s. They were given land grants in the Old 96 (Long Canes) District of South Carolina. In the very early 1800s, they migrated to Cahokia, IL (South St. Louis), and then came to Franklin County by 1820. The 3 families inter-married quite a bit. Isabel Frazier married Valentine Cook, May 10, 1821, in Franklin Co, MO. She was widowed Feb. 4, 1834. In the 1850 Washington County (Liberty Townshp) census, she is head of household and several of her children live at home. She is not listed (as Isabel or Isabella Cook) in any census after that. Also, I believe Valentine to be buried at Burgowich Cemetery and have her listed there too - that cemetery was near their land. If anyone has any thoughts, I would appreciate ideas. :o) Thanks!

    1. Route from Pa. to Mo.
    2. Anyone have any suggestions what route my gggrandfather, Nicholas Hartzell may have taken to come to Ste. Genevieve from Pittsburgh, Pa. The agreement was drawn up June 7, 1814 and Nicholas left Pittsburgh June 23, 1814. He was from Stoystown, Somerset Co., Lower Turkeyfoot, Pa. and entered into an agreement with Peter Kimmel from Pittsburgh, Pa. to come to Ste. Genevieve, Mo. and set up a Tanyard. Peter Kimmel furnished Nicholas with money, goods, hides, tools and various articles in the amount of $4,367.82 Somewhere along the line he met Mary Goza from Ga. and they had a son, Silas, born 1820 in Ste. Genevieve. I have not been able to find a marriage record for them. On all the estate papers, Mary is always around Isaiah Goza, Hugh Goza, Michael Goza and Charles Goza also from Ga. I think she was their sister, I just can't prove it. Mary Goza Hartzell remarried Samuel Staples and they lived in Jefferson Co., along with Isaiah Goza's family Thank you, Sharon (Hartzell) Smith
