I am having a heck of a time finding ANY threads concerning my grandfather, and came across your comment that ALL Govereau's are from Etienne Govereau who came to Quebec in the early 1700s as a soldier. I am to assume that would also include Govereau's from Manitoba, and eastwards? I am trying to find Alfred John Govereau who came to Cananda with his brother from Minnisota to Manitoba to the lumber mills to work, where, years later he was killed in a shaft in the mine according to Theodore Govereau, his son, who witnessed the accident. Theo was 16 at the time. That puts Alfred in Manitoba ABOUT 1943-1944? I do not know how old Alfred was when he died tho. His birthdate in my family tree is an estimate. I have NO records on him tho.I Would LOVE to find a border crossing document or SOMETHING! His first born Daughter Lorna Govereau was born in 1920. Joseph and Betsy Baker Pinson had at least 3 children that I know of. My aunt said she was always told that Joseph Pinson was the father of 18 children. I live about 30 miles from the Swan Cem. Mary Marson Pinson was born 3/10/1849 to Joseph W Pinson and Mary Willet. She married John Richard Gruwell 9/4/1870. She died 5/7/1923 in Washington, Missouri at age 75 of Influenza. Her death certificate is vuable on-line. You may already have this info. Her father was born in Spartanburg, S. Carolina and her mother was born in Washington, Kentucky.
