Thanks to everyone responding to me about our pending visit to Vernon County in May. You gave me lots of hints, addresses, e-mail addresses, etc. that will be so very helpful when we arrive there. Thanks for the McKee burial information - the one was the brother of my grandfather. The little boy died at age 7 when granddad was only 2 so he would not have remembered him. I'll be "talking" with some of you via e-mail to get more advice and suggestions for our trip. I am new to this list - as of today - and am looking for information on Charles Steel(e). He was born about 1856 in Franklin Co., MO, but I believe he lived later in Vernon Co. in the Stotesbury area. He was a half brother to my ggrandfather and family tradition is that he was a doctor in the Nevada area. I don't really have other information except that his wife might have been Dorcas, or something similar. I have looked for information for many years and would appreciate any leads.
