In the 1903 Plat Book of Vernon Co., Mo, it shows that Schell City is in Bacon township. In the map of Schell City between streets 2nd and 3rd and between Walnut St and Hickory, there is a school listed as Public School. I found no listing for Towne School in this book, other than the school I mentioned which is in the town of Schell City. When I have been to Nevada, MO have found alot of information from the Nevada Library, they have a genealogy dept. there, and some Vernon Co., MO history books.
