December 03, 1866 married his first cousin Hesther Vinson (b: Abt. 1806 TN). His ancestors reportedly migrated from MD/VA are to middle TN, to [probably Callaway Co] MO, to IL, to Bates/Vernon County MO. Hereford b: Abt. 1835 Illinois +N.A. b: Abt. 1840 Tennessee Sarah Hereford b: 1837 IL d: 1869 +Hugh Douglas Cox b: Abt. 1839 Tennessee James "Henry" Hereford b: Abt. 1842 Illinois +Jane A. b: Abt. 1849 Missouri Frances Hereford b: Abt. 1844 Missouri +H. M. Hueghes b: Abt. 1833 Missouri Mary Caroline Hereford b: November 27, 1844 Missouri d: October 22, 1885 +James Alexander Keener b: April 17, 1840 Pennsylvannia d: October 05, 1903 Thomas " Franklin" Hereford b: 1847 Missouri d: August 14, 1922 +Tilitha Belle Hereford b: July 19, 1854 Barry County, Missouri d: February 19, 1919 KEENER James Alexander KEENER's parents came from Westmoreland Co, PA to northwest MO (Buchanan Co area). Several of his brothers travel into KS. James shows up in 1866 on the Vernon County voters list as FLEENOR. He purchased some of his deceased father-in-law's land at auction in 1870 and was also listed with his wife, one child and their nephew, Henry Heughs age 8 on the 1870 Vernon County Census. Mary Caroline HEREFORD and James Alexander KEENER, based on the place of their second child's birth, they moved on to TX by 1872. Mary Caroline died in childbirth in 1885.
