My great grandfather, Andrew H. McKee, and his family are in the 1870 Vernon County, Missouri census in Bacon Township. In 1866, he is listed as a voter in the same township. There is no such town in the zip code records now. Can someone here tell me where it would be located? Is it near or a part of Nevada? Thanks for all your help. Pat, Bacon Township is located on the NE corner of Vernon County, just above Clear Creek Township, right on the edge of St.Clair County. Shell City was the main town in the 1880's, but I don't know if it is still there. Harwood is still on the current map. I think it is about 10 miles from the center of Nevada. Hope that helps.
