I am tracing my grandmother Freda Lucille Nance's family. Her grandfather was William F. Nance, married Amelia F. Sherer/Sheran in Butler County, Kansas on Sept. 30, 1874 at the home of W. Sherer. By the year 1907 they were farming in Alfalfa County, Ok. The only child that I know they had was my ggrandfather; Fred Finis Nance,b. Mar.2,1886 in Kansas, married June 7,1907 in Vigo County, In. to Marcia I. McKinney b. Mar. 6, 1884. Fred was a resident of Terre Haute In and Marcia was a resident of Pimento, In. at the time of their marriage. They had three children; Freda Lucille b.July 2o, 1908 in Vigo, Terre Haute In. at home at 1215 Chestnut Street. Freda married Willard Richard Reed in Vernon County, Nevada Mo. on Feb.2, 1927. Krissy b. ??? I don't have the exact spelling but she married Marvin Deer/Neer sometime around 1932 and they went to Kansas City Kansa and started farming and it is said that Fred and Marcia went there to live with them. Gerald b. ?????? Marcia's parent were Enoch A. McKinney b. In. and Allice N. Boyll, b. In. They we3re farming in Pimento at the time of Fred and Marcia's marriage. This is also Vigo County. His father was a native of Virginia. He came to Vigo County in 1839 and located in Linton Twp. In 1838 he married Nancy Hedges in Kentucky, she was a native of Kentucky, and they had thirteen children.
