I am looking for information on two families. First, there was the family of JAMES ROBERT CRAIGHEAD/CRAGHEAD m. CORDELIA "DELIA" JENNINGS, c. mid-1800s, in Callaway County. They moved to Harwood, Vernon County, a short time afterwards and continued to reside in Vernon County for about 11 years, before moving back to Fulton, Callaway County, MO. Both died in Fulton and are buried there. At least one of their children was born in Harwood: FLORENCE CRAIGHEAD/CRAGHEAD, b. 1880. The other family was GEORGE W. BURNETT m. EMMA/ANNA JENNINGS.. They moved around a great deal during their marriage. Their first child, CHARLES ISHAM BURNETT, was born in 1872, in Atchison, KS, but in 1875, my grandmother, ANNA C. BURNETT, was born in Schell City, Vernon County. In 1880, Emma/Anna gave birth to their third and last child, OTIS WILLET BURNETT and not long afterwards, Emma/Anna died. I think that Otis "Willie" may have been born in Morgan County, IL, where George was from originally. I have a newspaper clipping that records a gruesome murder in Vernon County, c. 1920s (have on file and details are vague right now) where a Sheriff Craighead/Craghead was heading the investigation into the murder. This might be of interest to someone researching the Craighead/Craghead surname in Vernon County. Also, I have recently discovered the names of the parents of CORDELIA & EMMA/ANNA JENNINGS, who were sisters: REUBEN & ELIZABETH JENNINGS, both originally from VA. Cordelia, b. 1856 and d. 1918, and Emma/Anna, b. 1851 and d. c. 1880, were also born in VA. The parents of GEORGE W. BURNETT were JAMES H. BURNETT m. SARAH JANE/ANN MAXFIELD. This may have been the second marriage for James Burnett. I have much more information to share concerning both of these families. Thanks, Patricia
