Here is the obit for Roanay Hart. She married Richard Columbus Fielden who was the brother of my g grandfather, John Fielden who married Sallie Coats, d/o James and Elizabeth Hart Coats. We don't know if the two Hart families are related or not, have not found anything yet to show that. What are in ( )'s are my notes for myself. Oct 27, 1904 The angel of death visited the home of one of our friends and neighbors, R. C. Fielden (Richard Columbus Fielden, son of Dempsey and Sarah Turner Fielden), and took from them their beloved wife and mother. Roanay Hart was born Feb. 9th, 1859, in Maries county, Mo., and came to this county with her father about the end of the war. She lived with her father till 1884, when she was married to Mr. R. C. Fielden. Six children resulted from this union, three girls (Agnes, Ora Matilda and Edith Blanche) and three boys (Everett Leslie, Ralph Wilbert and Walter Ray). She leaves, besides the husband and children, an aged father and stepmother and two brothers, R. W. and J. E. Hart, two half sisters and a half brother, Rosa, Julia and R. V. Hart. During her sickness all that medical skill and loving hands could do was done but to no avail; the time had come for her to meet the Maker and she must go. It was at 5 o'clock on Friday morning, Sept. 23, that the death angel called and found her prepared to enter upon a journey from which no one has ever returned. She professed a faith in Christ at the age of 17 and joined the Free Will Baptist church and has lived a Christian life ever since. Mrs. Fielden was a good neighbor whose friends were numbered by her acquaintances and she will be sorely missed in the community in which she lived. But the greater loss is to the bereaved husband and children to whom we extend our entire sympathy. The remains were followed by a host of sorrowing relatives and friends to her last resting place in Liberty cemetery Sept. 24, funeral services being conducted by Rev. McGoodwin. My mother is one, that I loved so well, Oh, why did she leave me so soon? She has gone up yonder to a home in heaven, An will never come back anymore. It was hard to look thee in the face, dear mother, And bid you good-bye, But we know you have gone, dear mother, To the Savior up on high. We know that in the portals that are shining bright and fair, You will be the first to greet us When the Savior calls us there. My mother is gone that I loved so well, A voice we loved is stilled; A place is vacant in our home, That never can be filled. Long did thou linger, mother dear, In the greatest of anguish in vain, Waiting and watching for God To relieve you from all earthly pain. But at 5 o'clock there silently came The angel that had watched you so long, And bore you away to your heavenly home. Where the weary are forever at rest. Your face, dear mother, we will never forget, Though our days be numbered many, We bid you adieu, for we know that you are waiting In the beautiful valley of Heaven. Home without a mother, Life without her cheer, Could the soul be happy, if it had no mother there? N.H.
