Can anyone tell me anything about a J.M. Walker listed in the Texas County census in 1900? He was born in Missouri Feb. 1844 and his occupation was Marshal. He lived in Burdine township, Cabool, and his wife was L.J. Walker, age 54. Were marshals elected positions, and would there be election records? I am looking for a James M. Walker who was born in Feb. 1844 in Missouri and reportedly lived in southern Missouri at about this time period. I'm curious if this could be him. Thank you for any help anyone could provide. Diane
