Hi, Genevieve, My records show Louisa E. Garrison, daughter of Buckner Garrison and Lucinda Jane McBride, born 1854, marrying James Anderson Mahan. So is the Anderson wrong and it's Andrew for sure? I see a note that James had a sister Martha. There is perhaps another Louisa (also shown as Eliza Rosanna Angeline Adeline)...I don't know where all the confusion on that name came from! A cousin who has done a lot of research gave me this family sheet..I'll write and ask her...Anway..an additional Louisa Garrison, daughter of Edmund B. Garrison (Buckner's son) and Nancy Ann Smotherman. This Louisa was born 1869 or 1870 and married John Gillihan in 1888. I do not have a list of her children, except she did have a daughter Emma, as well. I will write to my cousin and let you know what she says. Emma Gillihan Bashor , daughter of Louiza and John Gillihan, is a contact for this family sheet and she says she is the 4th child of Louisa Garrison and John Gillihan, born 1905. Do you know which Smelcer married your Mahan? I'll keep digging on that one...it might be here somewhere! I don't think I have a list of the first Louisa's children, but I'll look some more and if I don't, I will write to a cousin who might. But it will be snail mail. The first Louisa's sister Amanda "Mandy," born 1855 married an Edmund Tarwaters, and had a daughter Emma...who married a Lee Reynolds. I wonder if this other researcher could have confused Louisa and Mandy? Or maybe they are right and Louisa did have an Emma as well. Or they are confusing and combining the two Louisas! Could the children in Samuel Mahan's household in 1880 be from the Smelcer marriage..if we find one!???? What do you think of all this? Does anyone else have information on these families? Marti Emma Tarwaters Reynolds, Mandy's daughter, had her grandmother Lucinda in her home in Jasper County after Buckner's death. They moved to Oklahoma later, I think. After Tarwater, Mandy married a John W. Malone and had Daniel, Buckner and Lucy.
