Surnames: Riseling, Risling, Reisling, Riesling, Reuschling Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/kNB.2ACI/888.991.1.1 Message Board Post: I am finding that there are a lot of Riseling/Risling/Riesling/Reislings out there that are not related and it appears to be the case between us (at least for now). As far as I know, my descendants come from Darmstadt, Germany (latest dates are 1630s) but suspicions are that we were in Switzerland or Austria prior to that. I don't have any records of any of my descendants coming from Russia although we may find out somewhere down the road that we are related. Our original name was Reuschling and my descendants came to America in 1819. If any of this remotely sounds familiar to any other part of your family, please let me know and I will be happy to pass on information.
