In the mid 1990's I read the Cabool Enterprise newspaper from 1906 (1909 to part of 1913 is missing on microfilm) to 1940. I made hundreds of copies. We then extracted all of our HOUSE family (dad's) and made a book of it for our House families. We then extracted all of the Fielden/Caylor/Wood families (mom's) and made books. James and Elizabeth Hart Coats are also my mom's g grandparents, haven't had the nerve to tackle them yet, BIG family. There is a mixture of Coats, Hart, Forrester and Crawford in that family. There are copies of both books we made in the Texas Co., MO Historical and Genealogical Society library. The Wilson and Elizabeth Carter Oxley family touch some of our family lines (we believe), through their son, Wiley W. Oxley. There is a marriage for W. W. Oxley to Eliza C. Bailey 24 Nov., 1891, both are from Cabool, Texas Co., MO. We know that Wiley W. Oxley and second wife, Martha, children Retta, John W., Thomas B. and Lettie (Lilly) A. are living in Neosho Co., KS in the 1880 census. John W. Oxley was born in MO. We "believe" that the Wiley W. Oxley who homesteaded in 1890 near Greenwood church is this Wiley and that Martha died and Wiley W. remarried. Their son, John W. Oxley met and married Margaret Ward (Margrett M. on tombstone) and they lived on her folks home until Margaret's death in 1935. She and John W. are buried in Union Cemetery, Texas Co., MO. 1900 Cass Twp, Texas Co., MO census shows Milton Bailey head of house, wd and 3 children. Living with him are Eliza C. Oxley wd and sister to Milton Bailey (Wiley W. Oxley is "thought" to have died before 1900 census) and Minnie Mathis, niece and single. "Dove" Bailey Oxley is thought to be the third wife of Wiley W. Oxley and might "possibly" ?? be nickname for Eliza C. Bailey Oxley. The last that I find Dove Oxley is in the Dec. 7, 1916 Cabool Enterprise. It states in the Hamilton Creek News that "Aunt Dove Oxley and Aunt Tina Bailey spent Sunday night at the Tom House home." I know that at that time older women were often called "Aunt" and not really be related to writer of article. Tom House is my grandfather, Thomas Franklin House, s/o John and Martha Emaline Wood House. Can anyone tell me anything about Dove Oxley and Tina Bailey? Does anyone know when Dove died and what her complete name was? Could Dove be a nickname for Eliza C. Bailey Oxley? Does anyone know who Tina Bailey was? Marguerette House Powell
