Age at the time of going was 77 years, 11 months and 12 days. When quite young he moved with this parents to the north part of the state, where he lived until he was about 14, then he, with his grandparents, Mr and Mrs Haines, moved to Texas County, where he has since lived. He was united in marriage to Pearl Dixon, of Yukon, in 1901and with the blessings of God about them they have had the privilege of almost half a century of living together. The happy memories of these years will lend happiness to the years that may come for this devoted companion. He was of a family of eight, but had never lived near his relatives since he was young; so thru the years they had lost track of each other. They believe he was the last of the family. Mrs. Deed's brothers and sisters have filled this place in his life and he has loved them as though they were his own. He had been sick for some time, although it was possible for him to do some things that he enjoyed doing; but this attack was more severe than any other had been and while his going was shock, it was expected. He had made many friends in the community where he had lived, was patient in his illness, and could be completely depended upon. The following are grieving for him today: The devoted companion Mrs. Paul Deeds; a number of cousins and many friends. Funeral service were held at the Big Creek Church, Friday January 13, Mrs. Ray Miles officiating. Interment following at the Big Creek Cemetery under direction of the Elliott Funeral Home. I hope this helps with your questions! Good Luck! Laura
