I did come across information in a Texas County book that has the Fugate family starting off in Maryland in the 1600's. Some of the early families Tate included were all in the same area in Texas county. A lot of the families were buried at Steeley's Chapel and Bethel Chapel near Elk Creek as well as Fugate Cemetery on the old "Sitt's" (That is the wording in book) near Stultz.
