I can't find my latest newsletter from the Texas County Gen. society, but am thinking that I read something in there about death records being available...does anyone know about this? Are they publishing a book of records? Appreciate any help! ________________________________________________________________________ Check out AOL.com today. I am fairly certain that my Lucinda (McComas) WRIGHT died in Texas Co. about 1912 but she isn't listed with the State of MO. I was told that there were many deaths that weren't reported to the state back in those years. If anyone has a book on Texas Co. deaths, I would really appreciate a look-up. She could possibly have died in Greene Co.if not in Texas Co. since she had a daughter living there. Lucinda is in the 1910 census in Texas Co. living with a Charles F. & Mary L. Osborn family in Ozark Township. The Osborns daughter married a Cary Stewart & they all moved out to Custer Co. MT in about 1918. Lucinda was gone by that date. These Wright, Stewart & Osborn families had previously lived in Jasper Co. IL & Noble Co. IN. Thank you, Diane Ethridge Conroe, TX deae@consolidated.net

Hi, Kenny... <<also, there is some confusion as to which state John Anderson was born. About half of the time he's listed as being born in TN, the other half, in KY. >> A Garrison cousin of mine recently filled me in on the Walker Line that divided Tennessee and Kentucky....Apparently the survey was a problem because over the years, the border between the two states...Kentucky and Tennessee......moved back and forth. If you were near the borders you could be in Kentucky one year and TEnnessee the next without moving. My Buckner Garrison is usually listed as born in Ky...and that is where I find his father Edmund and probably his grandfather Paul in 1810 when Buckner would have been born.....but sometimes it says Tennessee.....and his brother Abner is listed as born in Tennessee. So maybe that is what the deal is with your John Anderson. Also....and this probably is not a connection, but just in case....Buckner's mama was a Lucinda McBride whose mother was Elizabeth Anderson.....born ca. 1800 probably in Tennessee......Lucinda and Buckner were in Texas Co. at least by 1850 but some books say earlier.....I don't remember the dates, but Lucinda's parents were there at some point too.....so maybe your John could possibly be related to Elizabeth....although I know it's a common name. There were Woods near my Garrisons in earlier days enough so I think they might have some connection but I have never found it. I've also never found Elizabeth's parents' names. Marti ===

Surnames: Anderson, Eaves, Hume, Wofford Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/kNB.2ACI/1797.2 Message Board Post: John Anderson is my ggGrandfather. Plina (Priana) was his (at least 2nd) wife. They married Dec 6, 1863. Apparently he was her first husband either. Her maiden name is Lavina Priana Camelia Eaves, but their wedding record lists her as Mrs. Priana Elliot. I have no idea who the Elliot was or what became of him, but they couldn't have been married long. Nancy Ann Anderson was his daughter from a previous marriage. The only other marriage I find for him was to Francis Hume of Dent co on Aug 12, 1861. (Again, I have no idea what became of her, but I suspect she died in childbirth with Nancy Ann-no proof only suspicion) John was their first son that I know of, b. 11-4-1864 near Lenox. he married Mary Elizabeth Davidson. He died 8-19-1923 in Houston, MO They had two other sons-Pleasant Albert b. 1-12-1867 (who should be on the 1870 census-maybe he was staying with her folks-they were long time Lenox area residents) and my gGrandfather James Wesley. John (aka Robert John) died at Licking in abt. 1874 (I am actively trying to pin down a date, which is what I was doing when I stumbled across your posts) As far as I know, neither young man listed was any relation. I suspect that they were hired farmhands-I see that a lot-often from neighboring families. In fact I even found one of my gggGrandmothers working as a housekeeper about three families away from her parents in one census. AS for where was John in the 1850 and 1860 census. I don't know. I think I found a john (or Robert?) Anderson in the 1850 Texas county census, but the microfilm that I was viewing was a horribly scratched negative, and I would not bet that it was him. BTW I have Wood ancestors on the other side of my family in Phelps County-I have had a tough time getting anywhere with them too. Also, my relationship to the Sherrills that Sherrill Township is named for is distant-our common ancestor is from Sherrill's Ford NC, in the early 1800's I doubt this was any help, but it was nice to find my ggGradnfather listed in a posting other than my own! Kenny Sherrill Lecoma, MO also, there is some confusion as to which state John Anderson was born. About half of the time he's listed as being born in TN, the other half, in KY.
