I think you are Jackie Parker's daughter? Jackie is my first cousin and second cousin. His dad Glen Parker (who was my Mom's uncle) married my dad's(Jack (Dock) Moore's sister, Raye Moore. In any event, I have been tracing the Parker and McQueen and Moore lines. I have that Thomas Lewis Parkers parents are Levi Parker and Sara Bragg. Have you found that to be true? I do not have parents for Levi but I do have for Sara - Dozier Bragg and Margaret Bussey. I am not sure I have all the kids for Thomas Lewis parker either. I have found only four. My Mom has tried to fill in as much as she knows about g grandpa parker. Would be glad to share what I have with you and hope you can do the same. Glad to see there is someone else in the family that is trying to get the history down. Look forward to hearing from you. Glenda

As you will see his parents are not listed, but a brother John and two sisters survived him. I have assumed that Josiah and Elizabeth Busby were his parents. This is clearly an assumption on my part. There is no one living that can verify any of my theory. My Grandmother was Sion's youngest daughter Sallie DeBoard. Would love to find more about this family. Most of his children are buried in Arrol Cemetery in Missouri or in the Braman, Oklahoma Cemetery. I have been unable to find three of his children Carol, born 3/2/1902,Everett born 9/23/1891, Dortha ((Dorothy) born 10/11/1895 - the last time i can find her is in the 1910 MO Texas cty, pierce twsp, dist 108 at age 18. I have found nothing that indicates she married, or possibly died before the family moved to Oklahoma in about 1914. Please keep in touch Phyllis Parli SION BUSBY Sion Busby was born at Mountain View, Mo., November 13, 1860, and died May 18, 1937, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Sallie DeBoard east of Braman, at the age of 76 years, six months and five days. He spent his life around Mountain View, until 1916, when he moved with his family near Braman, where he has resided since. He was married to Almedia Sim-mons on May 14, 1885, and to this union was born 14 children, five of whom preceded their father in death, also his loving wife preceded him in death, passing away December 3, 1929. Everything that loving hands could do for his comfort was done but the all wise Heavenly Father had ordained it otherwise and at 9:30 o'clock Tuesday evening his spirit took its flight to God from whence it came. "Daddy," as he was called and better known by all his friends was always cheerful, and was loved by all who knew him. He has been a member of the Baptist church since his young manhood when he was converted, however some two years ago he rededicated his life to the Lord during a revival in the Church of God east of Braman. The last two weeks of his life was spent in prayer asking God to take him home to rest. He leaves to mourn his death, nine children, Mrs. Prank Potts of Mountain View, Mo.; Mrs. H. T. Taber, Summerville, Mo.; Mrs.Elmer Beller, Braman; Mrs.Clara Willbanks, Mrs. Sallie DeBoard, Jack, Leonard, Ed and Jim Busby all of Newkirk. One brother, John Busby of Elmo, Wash.; two sisters, 23 grandchildren, four great grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.

    1. PARSON FAMILY MURDERS
    2. Thank you so very very much for the photo of the Parson Family. What a sad, sad sight. I was raised in Texas County and remember hearing about the murder. I could remember that Jody Hamilton Killed them, but I do not remember why. I have an excerpt from the biography of "Albert and Madge Parmenter Family." It was written by Phyllis Masters, and appeard in "Texas (Mo.) County Heritage," volume 2, page 665. Grandad is Albert Parmenter, Phillis's grandfather. Albert and his two brothers ran a Livery Stable. In 1906, Jody Hamilton killed the Parson family in the Boiling Springs area. He had been arrested by Sheriff Wood and put in the Houston jail. Wood had heard rumors that some of the people of the community were going to break Hamiliton out of jail and give him his just due without a trial. Sheriff Wood sneaked Hamilton from the jail, Grandad was waiting with his best horses to drive them swiftly to Cabool to put Hamilton on a train for safekeeping in the Springfield Jail. Before they reached Cabool, Grandad said he could hear the crowds shouting behind, trying to catch them before they reached the train. In time, Jody Hamilton was hanged on the Houston courthouse lawn for his dirty deeds. An invitation was sent to Grandad to witness the hanging. He didn't go. Bertha M. King Page 275 under Thomas Bryant Cantrell: James Cantrell was elected and served two terms as sheriff of Texas County, also served as deputy and helped to capture Jodiy Hamilton for the murder of the Parson family the Parson Family is buried in Cantrell Cemetery in unmarked graves. From Cantrell Cemetery. Carney Parson, Wife and 3 boys ar burid here without a marker

    1. Query - MILLER/MARTIN Texas/Howell Counties
    2. Elaine O'Neill
    3. Searching for burial location, and death date/location, if possible, of Roxanna J./Roxie Martin. She was born ca. 1855/1860 in Texas Co. Married Alfred Miller/Lockmiller, unsure of date. She died approx. 1895. Roxanna was my G-grandmother. When Roxanna died my grandmother, Edith Miller was sent to live in Michigan. In a newpaper clipping from Edith's 50th wedding anniversary announcement, it gives her birthplace as Pilot Knob. To the best of my knowledge her parents never lived near the well known Pilot Knob. Was there ever a Pilot Knob in Texas or Howell County? Edith's younger brother William Arch Miller, Roxanna's youngest child, was said to have been born in Willow Springs. He was only 2 or 3 when Roxanna died. I don't know if her husband, Alfred Miller buried her near where they lived, in Howell Co., or near where she was raised in Texas Co. Would also like to find burial location and death dates of her parents......William Martin d. approx 1865, and his wife Julia A. To the best of my knowledge they lived and died in Texas County. I live in Taney County but am unable to travel to do any searching at the present time. Thank you very much in advance to anyone that can help. Elaine O'Neill
