I am trying to reach Vickie Kilmer who posted a Williams family of Success, Texas Co. MO on World Connect at rootsweb. Her email address at bewellnet.com does not work. Vickie, I saw your listing for Samuel Morris WILLIAMS, father-in-law of your grandmother Sarah Ann (Hobough) Williams, on Rootsweb's World Connect. I am interested in the Williams surname (esp in the Roubidoux area) in Texas Co. I am not a descendent of Williams, but am looking for descendents of John Williams and his second wife, Armazinda Frances (Fannie) Williams of Upton Twp. Frances Wallace Williams was sister to my great-grandmother and according to the 1900 census, married John about 1872. On the 1880 Texas CO census, there are several children who appear to have been born in a previous marriage. Among them is a Samuel, age 17. Could this be your Samuel? His father John was born in IL. Other children in the family are: Charles (b.c1870), Walter (b. c 1873 - could be 1872 and last of first marriage children), Alice (b. c 1878 - probably first of Frances' children), Edgar (b. Mar 1880), Frank (b. Feb 1885), Martin (b. Feb 1885), Elizabeth (b. June 1889), Frances (b. Dec 1894). Do any of these names sound familiar to you? Any help you have in tracking this family would be greatly appreciated. All that is left of my great-grandmother's descendents is my immediate family and our line left Texas Co. in 1902. I have been hoping for years to find descendents of the siblings families that remained in MO, but so far, no luck. Thanks so much. -Sue

Surnames: GILLY, HOWELL, CORBETT Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/kNB.2ACI/1555 Message Board Post: I'm trying to track down information about Albert M. HOWELL, James S. CORBETT, and Andrew Jackson "Jack" GILLY/GILLEY. The first two are my maternal great-grandfathers and Jack is my maternal gggrandfather. I have the following information: Albert Howell b. abt 1874 in Missouri, married Anna Boyce, d.o. Samuel Woodson Boyce and Susan Lucy Summers. Albert and Anna are listed in the 1920 census for Houston city with their two teenage daughters. Albert indicates that he and his parents were all born in Missouri. He doesn't seem to be listed in the 1900 or 1910 censuses for Houston, though, and I can't find names for his parents. James S. Corbett, b. abt. 1866 in Illinois, married Laura J. Gilly, d.o. Andrew Jackson Gilly and Malissa Shipp, on 22 Apr. 1889 in Crittenden Co., Arkansas. James and family are listed in 1900, 1910, and 1920 censuses for Houston, but I'm not finding much other information about him. According to a family story he received railroad benefits. He was a jeweler and farmer according to both census and family lore. Andrew Jackson Gilly married Malissa Shipp 9 Apr 1868 in Texas County and is listed with her in the 1870 (as Jack Gilly)and 1880 (as A.J. Gilley) censuses for Jackson Twp. Curiously, in the 1870 census Jack claims to have been born in Tennessee, but in the 1880 census he claims to have been born in Alabama. The only Jackson Gilly I've found of about the right age is one born in Henry Co., VA to Leftwich and Mary Gilley (Jack claimed his mother was born in VA). It appears that Jack had died or disappeared by 1886; Malissa is shown in the 1900 census as the wife of George Worlow for 14 years. Any light anyone can shed on any of these three fellas would be most appreciated.

Hi Listers, I am looking for info on James F. Sitton b 1828 Alabama and his wife Sara J, Wilson Sitton b 1829 Georgia. James and his family were in Texas county in the 1870 census. His children were listed as Cicero, William, Mary, Martha, NA (Nancy), and a Rebecca. I have been told that they fled Alabama before the Civil War and moved into Illinois where they stayed until the war was over. They then moved into Missouri and settled for a few years in Texas county, Missouri before going on south to Arkansas. Is there anyone out there that can tell me anything about my GG Grandfather and his family during their stay in Texas county? Appreciate any kind of information you are willing to share. Just trying to fill in a few holes about my ancestor's travels. Pat

Seems like I remember the name Inman, connected to Agustus. She was a widow that had a young son.

Surnames: Freeman, Ball Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/kNB.2ACI/1304.1 Message Board Post: I am researching the Aaron Posey Freeman and Allabeth Ball family line. AP Freeman, his wife and supposedly 13 of their family members including children and various spouses and their families moved to the Ozark/Douglas Co. area around 1850. A bunch of those people show up in the 1860 Douglas Co. census along with my ggg-grandfather, Rev. Humphrey Posey Freeman. Someone mentioned to me that speculation is that my HP Freeman is the grandson of Aaron and Allabeth through their first son Moses (Green) Freeman. I'm wondering if the Moses Freeman in the Texas Co. 1860 census is Aaron and Allabeth's son. Everything I've found says Moses Green Freeman was b. about 1807 in North Carolina, but no one has actually provided proof of that. I think the speculation there is that Aaron and Allabeth were married in 1807. Aaron was married once before and had a son and daughter born bet. 1800 and 1804 and it is possible that Moses is that son. I know that a Rev. Posey Freeman founded a! baptist church in 1859 near Cabool in Texas Co. I have no proof yet but I think that Rev. Posey Freeman is actually HP Freeman. This family line originated in the Buncombe county North Carolina area. Some of the family members are very easy to trace, others are not, but links can be made through process of elimination, coinicidences, and similarities. Is there anyone else -- other Freeman's -- listed in that census?

Snow 1889-1960; William E. Snow was the son of John Snow and Clementine Owens; John Snow was the son of Abram Snow. I have this information about William E. Snow because recently someone shared his obituary information with me. Abram Snow was the brother of my paternal great-grandfather. John Snow had a brother named Robert; Robert had a son named Rancy (spelling?) Snow who married a Florence Keeney, is there any connection between that Keeney and your surname? Just curious. Any questions, my e-mail address is [email protected] Thanks. Sharon Snow Parrish, Indiana
