Surnames: Parker, Ready Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/kNB.2ACI/1902.1.1.1.1 Message Board Post: Thomas Lewis left Maries County with a new wife, his first one had died, and went to Arkansas for a time. When he left, he left behind his youngest child with his first wife Easter. Easter died the day after this child was born. His name was William Columbus Parker. Thomas Ready raised this boy also, like he helped raise Cornelius's kids. There is alot of the 'close-mouth's' surrounding this family. My own great-gret grandfather, Levi Ready, just disappeared from Maries County, probably about the time Thomas Lewis left here and headed to ARkansas. I have often thought perhaps it was a 'trade-off'. William Columbus was still a boy and needed raising and Levi Ready had money and marital problems. Levi Ready would have been Thomas Lewis Parker's nephew. I have never yet been able to pinpoint him, even though he was only 25 years old when he left here, and unless something unforseen happened to him, he probably married and raised another family. Tell me what you do k! now - perhaps you are a missing link? Who was your father, your grandfather, as much as you know. My email is ljames62@osagecon.missouri.org. I am thinking my Levi Ready, may have very well went by Levi Parker after leaving here.

I don't have any information about any Parker history. By the time I was old enough to be interested in doing Family History Research all of the Older relatives were either gone or didn't know or remember anything. I could barely get names out of anyone. The Parker side of my family was not very close and never really talked about their ancestors. I believe that Thomas Louis Parker is my Great Great Great Grandfather. I am trying to find any information that I can on the Parker history, if you have any suggestions where I can find any more information please let me know. Thanks again for the reply.

    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Parker, Ready Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/kNB.2ACI/1902.1.1 Message Board Post: Hi, there were 6 Parker siblings living in CAnnon County Tennessee in 1850. 4 boys and two girls. My great-great-great grandmother, Sarah Lucyan Parker Ready, was the eldest girl. Cornelius, Dozier, and the youngest girl, ended up in Texas County, MO, by way of Iowa. The other three, John Wesley Parker, Thomas Lewis Parker, and Sarah Lucyan Parker Ready came with their families to Maries County MO. John Wesley was bushwhacked as was Cornelius. When Cornelius was bushwhacked, he had remarried to a younger woman, his first wife had died. They were trying to raise his children by his first wife. But maybe it was too much for the younger woman. Anyway his children, Levi, Henry, John David and Jerusha, were taken in my Thomas Ready and Sarah Lucyan. Sarah Lucyan died in 1870 but I know from a court case, Levi and Henry were still living with Thomas Ready and his kids. I am not sure John David and Jerusha lived with them, because by the time the court case came about - in August 1871 - those two were married, but the younger Henry and Levi still made their home with 'Uncle Tom Ready'. Since Jerusha and John David married in Maries County, I believe it is safe to assume after their father's death in 1862 or 1863, they probably also made their home with the Ready's until they married. Do you happen to have anything - like newspaper article - or even passed down stories? I would love to hear anything. My email is ljames62@osagecon.missouri.org.
