I think these Meltons do possibly connect, the IN and TN folks, via their earlier connections in Pittsylvania Co., VA. I have connected them back in the early 1700s. This is via Crispin Shelton and his brother, Daniel; I think; they were both sons of Ralph, but there were five or six other kids too. These folks also tie to the Mustain folks of Greene and Dallas Counties, back to Ralph, etc. Not all of the Pittsylvania Co. Sheltons are the same folks. Mine were all Sheltons; others in the same era, early 1700s, had been Cheltons that changed the 'c' to an 's.' I have a file with lots of information on these folks if anyone is interested, I can send a gedcom or gen report.
