    1. [MOTANEY] RE: Helphrey Cemetery

    3. Thanks for your follow-up message, Judith, as I can't seem to access Taney Co website to read your reply. I also have to apologize for I totally overlooked the 2 names in the Heading of your original Query. Since I can't open that website, I don't recall the other surname but here is the GARVER data from what appears to be 5 headstones, 3 of them joint with man & wife at Helphrey Cemetery: GARVER, George W. 27 April 1845--10 June 1931 Easter Jane 18 Mar 1861----26 Jan 1926 GARVER, Peter 2 May 1885-16 Jan 1921 GARVER, Frederick 4 Apr 1879---20 Feb 1951 Daisy Belle 2 Mar 1880--2 Feb 1936 GARVER, Hosae(sic) 1 July 1907--11 Dec 1960 MO PFC US Army WW2 GARVER, Glenn G. 18 Dec 1940--20 Aug 1978 Mary Lou 15 Oct 1947--___________ There is no indication of the maiden names for any of the 3 wives, and if you could provide that data, I would add it into the Cemetery Index as a permanent record. I also checked to see if there were any Taney Co. Marriage Records under the GARVER name but only found 2 entries (probably the same person): Hosea T. GARVER of Billings, Yellowstone Co., MT Ida B. BRYANT of Kissee Mills md 28 March 1907 (notation---returned unused 8 April 1907) Hosie T. Here is her address/phone but don't think she has e-mail address: Janice Soutee Looney P. O. Box 231 Walnut Grove, MO 65770 Tel: 417-994-2316 You would think there would be a MO State Death Cert for a 1931 death, but perhaps whoever filled it out the papers (Dr, Hospital, Etc) never filed that information with the State??? I'll also post this reply to your message on the Taney County Rootsweb List in case anyone else has a suggestion to give you. If you have any questions about any of the above, let me know and I'll see if there's anything else in any of my Taney County publications. Don Houk in Tokyo E-mail: [email protected] -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Friday, February 09, 2001 10:42 PM To: [email protected] Subject: Helphrey Cemetery Don, Thank you very much for your reply to my posting. I answered it briefly on the Taney Co site, but wanted to give you a little more information on my gr-grandparents, my gr gf is my brick wall. I would really appreciate any help or suggestions you can give me. George W. GARVER b. 1845 (Dade Co?) MO d. 1930-31 (supposedly at his home in Kissee Mills, Taney Co). Unfortunatley, MO has no record of his death and I have been unable to find this crucial piece of info. I have not been able to determine who his parents were after years of looking, lots of possibilities, but nothing has worked out. Is there a caretaker or access to the cemetery records that I could check? I have been in touch with the courthouse in Forsyth and the only additional info they have is a report of his son, Frederick Garver being listed in a court hearing as his guardian. I have copies of the papers and subsequent bills that were paid, but there is nothing more in the way of info in them. Another brick wall...... Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Again, many thanks for your reply. Judith
