Thanks to all of you who solved the mystery of the Box family. Your comments led me to do a search of the periodicals in the online Shepherd Room. I found a complete account of the tornado that swept through Melva that day. It explains that there were two Box families living there at the time and that the Box children who perished were from these two families. The story can be found at the URL below.
