That said...are you sure they lived around Branson? Swan Twp is the Forsyth area, going south some, but not to Branson. Branson wasn't started until 1882 or so, and was in Newton Twp. There is a Bed & Breakfast on F Hwy, north of Branson and overlooking Emory Creek Valley as you descend into Bull Creek Valley--kinda hard to describe, but the road curves around a "mountain" there--called "The Thurman House". Always wondered why. I thought this area had to be Jasper Twp, but there's no telling. There's some other Thurmans in there.
