Mike and others interested, I rec'd this from Marlene- Vonda, Asbury "Buck" Petty's parents were William and Elizabeth Coffey Petty. William Petty was born 1812 in TN and died about 1864 in Maries Co., MO. He was killed on his front porch by Confederate soldiers. After his death Elizabeth moved her family to Taney Co. Elizabeth, born 1822 in Wayne Co., KY, was the daughter of Marvel and Rachel Boone Coffey who came to Maries Co. in the 1830s from KY>TN. Rachel Boone was the granddaughter of Israel Boone, Daniel's brother. William and Elizabeth's children were: 1. William Henderson, who married Almiranda David. William served in the Civil War and was a deputy sheriff in Taney Co. for a short time. About 1900 William moved his family to Oklahoma. Mother Elizabeth went with them. Their children were: McClellan, John William, Marcus, Lillie Janet, Jefferson, Gabriel Newton and Mary. 2. Isaac, who married Tabitha Frances Estep. Isaac died about 1888 in Taney Co. There is a family story that he was shot by the Baldknobbers, but I've never been able to confirm that. After his death, Frances married Joseph Mosley. Isaac and Frances' children were John Rueben, Sarah Jane, Jacob Henderson and James. Jacob was my grandfather. 3. Samuel, who married Almeda Cummings in Taney Co. Family tradition says that Samuel was killed in a barroom brawl before his only child, Sammie (female), was born. Almeda later married Nathaniel St. Clair. 4. Elizabeth, who married Clements Falter in Taney Co. The only child I have listed for them is Mary. I have very little information on this family and would like to hear from anyone connected to the family. 5. Jesse Boone, who married Catherine Roller in Taney Co. Their children were Richard, Ludema, Mary and Sarah. There were probably more children, but I have not been able to locate this family after the 1880 Census. I would like to hear from anyone with knowledge of this family. 6. Asbury Buchanan, who married Melissa St. Clair in Taney Co. Their children I have listed were Minnie, Estell, Laura and Gladys. There probably were more children. I would like to have all the children's names and who they married. 7. Mary Ellen, who married Jacob Mooney Cummings in Taney Co. Their children were Amanda, Margaret R., Vincent, Henrietta, Mary, Almeda, and Sarah. I would like to know who these children married. 8. There may have been a son, John, born about the time his father was killed, but I haven't found any information on him. Marlene >Marlene and Don, >Who were the parents of Asbury Petty and his sibs?
