Ah, beautiful Taney County. My ancestors settled there in early 1800s, having first been listed in Callaway Co, records, later in Greene Co, and finally in Taney Co. Taney was broken off from Greene, so this change in location doesn't indicate a move. I descend from James Oliver and Rachel Holman/Holeman. James had the first mill in Taney Co. Rachel was a daughter of Henry Holman of KY and James was the son of John and Martha Oliver of KY. James and Rachel had the following children, many of whom had children who married into some of the Taney Co., names I've already seen posted. 1.Archibald Oliver brn 31 Aug 1811 Boone Co., KY, Marr. Elizabeth Garner. Archibald died 1849 in Taney Co., MO. 2. John Oliver brn 28 Apr 1813 Boone Co., KY, marr. Frances Archer, John died 24 Feb 1881 bur. Lewallen Cem, Branson. 3. Abigail (Abbie) Oliver brn. 1815 Boone Co., KY,marr. William Archer 1833 Co., MO, [I would like to find the family of William ARCHER, after he moved to Jasper Co., MO.] 4. William D. Oliver brn 6 Oct 1816 Boone Co., KY, marr. 1) Annie Haggard, 2) Margaret Beals. William died 3 Jun 1908 Evergreen, McLennan Co., TX where he is buried in the Evergreen Cem. on his farm, and for which he donated land. 5. Cynthia Oliver brn 1818 in Boone Co., KY, marr. Sandifer Spearman. Bur. Old Valley View Cem. Cooke Co., TX. 6. Lucinda Jane Oliver brn about 1820 in IN, marr. James Madison Archer in MO, died aft 1889 in probably in Montague Co., TX. THIS IS MY LINE. 7. Martha Oliver brn about 1822 in IN, marr. Turner Haggard, bur Haggard Cem, Taney Co., MO. 8. James Oliver, JR. brn 25 Dec 1824 in IN, marr probably twice, last wife was Elizabeth M. ___, James died 27 Aug. 1883, bur in Cox, Cem. Lorena, McLennan Co., TX. 9. Milton Oliver, brn 21 Mar. 1827 Callaway Co., MO, marr Kisire Haggard and after her death, Julie Ann Harrison Friend. Died 21 Mar 1905 Boone Co., AR. 10. Henry Oliver Brn 1828/1829 Callaway Co., MO Supposed to have been killed in an ambush in AR from which his brother Milton escaped. 11. Fielding Oliver, brn about 1830 Callaway Co., MO, died as a young boy in Taney Co., Mo. 12. Elizabeth Oliver brn. abt 1834, Taney Co., MO, marr Alpheus Wheeler who was from VA. She died leaving 2 young sons, one of whom later died while on a a trip to TX with his uncles. The 3 spouses surnamed ARCHER were all siblings and children of Elisha and Ann Archer.
