Hi, While looking through a Newton Co. MO newspaper on microfilm, I stumbled across the following. Not my family, but hope it is of interest to Smith and McDonald researchers. "Albert Smith, aged seventeen, Pearl McDonald, aged eleven eloped from Taney County, but were arrested in Springfield. They were on their way to the Indian Territory (Oklahoma) and had thirty dollars to begin life with. The marriage is indefinately postponed." Newton County Missouri News, 14 August 1890, pg 2
