Would like to see the replies go back to the list. Ideana
Barbara, Ideana is the Cupp expert on the Taney list, and while I have a copy of her work, I don't see where she has a husband for Ann. Ann wasn't in the 1870 Taney to the best of my knowledge (I did a quick look), while Isaac and Nancy were. They moved to Taney from Chariton Co. MO, and you may find Ann and her husband there in a marriage. Taney records pre-1885 just don't exist at the county government level, due to a courthouse fire. Aggravating, inconvenient, and difficult as it is, other records sometimes do surface (family Bibles or family knowledge) of marriages and etc. Ideana also has Isaac d 1883 in Chariton Co. MO. I wouldn't wonder if Ann maybe came down to take care of her parents at census time, since there are no children of hers around, and took Isaac and Nancy back to Chariton Co. I think Chariton Co. would be the place to look. Vonda
Probably the more important issue is the reply to address. As it now stands, if you reply to a message from MOTANEY, it goes to the indidual who posted by default rather than the list. I'd like it a lot better, and it's the more common practice, to have the replies go to the list by default. The way it works now, those on the list often miss out on replies because they only go to the individual who posted. Do you have that option, Vonda? Does anyone else have an opinion on this? >>this mail list doesn't indicate Taney Co. MO in the subject line<< Gina and others, The listowner has the option of including that in the subject line, and to be honest, I didn't ask when I took over what folks thought about having it there. There's only been a couple of folks who've asked, and my general answer is...I really don't have one. At the time, it wasn't unusual for me to get over 150 emails/day from various sources, and it didn't matter to me where they came from. In the interest of saving hard drive and archive space, it made sense to delete the "Taney" subject. While on the Listowners list, there were arguments for and against having the subject line included; I'm still abivalent on it. I can see where it helps to have it, but most of my busiest lists don't, for the reason cited above. How about an opinion here from those of you on the list? My mail program shows me where and who an e comes from; while I'm not particularly in favor of having "Taney" in the subject line (every time there's a post to either of my lists, I get 2 for each list, 1 at each addy, so I always know if it's Taney or WRV), I really don't care--there's other things in life to hassle over <BG>. Gina, you would obviously like to have the subject line, right? Vonda ListMom for MoTaney and MOARWRV http://homepages.rootsweb.com/~moarwrv/
Vonda, Good morning! I'm trying to locate and verify information on some Taney County residents. I'm looking for the burial site of Isaac William Cupp & his wife Nancy Bridges Cupp. They are shown on the 1880 Taney County census living in the home of their daughter Ann Cupp Maupin. Would also like to know Ann's husband's name and their children. Anything to verify this would be helpful. Many thanks, Barbara Cupp Woods
HI Petty researchers, Don't know if this Petty Family has any connection to yours , but I have a William Petty and wife Melinda - they got a Land patent in 1833- In St Charles Co Mo--where they built a home and lived there until 1839/40. They sold it to a family named WATSON " this house is still there"-- It at that time was a One room log home-- has been built on to. This home stand near the Femme Osage Valley and is only about 2 miles from Nathan Boone's Home-This Today is called Daniel Boone Home-- it is where Daniel Boone Died- You will see it on MO Map. Could this Petty Family be conneted??? Will be happy to answer any questions. Joyce
I get tickled that everyone assumes that anyone can work components of computers or whatever you call them. I am lucky that I can do the things I do.
My ancestor was Edna Bates(she was the sister of my grandmother) who married the youngest John Wesley Parton, and both died in Mincy, abt 1910 , I believe their deaths may have been caused by a measles epidemic, the three children left behind very young they were went to fort Gibson to live with the parents of Edna. I have never found the burial place for Edna or John (it could be James I have to look at my information about the family in order to remember, lol), but their deaths and place of burial has always been a mystery to us. I research all families in my trees, because I just love too. If you don't mind, I would like to have anything you have, greedy huh? Bonnie [email protected]

Does anyone know why the incoming mail from this mail list doesn't indicate Taney Co. MO in the subject line? Mine comes in with just the sender's name, and it's hard to tell until you open it if it is from someone looking specifically for info I have or if it is from someone on the list? ~gina~ Visit my homepage at http://hometown.aol.com/ginaburningsky/myhomepage/business.html November is Native American Indian Heritage Month
Sure, I would be glad to send it to you but remember that the important information is still on these documents. Dates, names and places. Plus the newspaper notices that Maude had to post because she didn't know where he had gone (they were only married about a year). I just get tickled that people assume everyone has all the equipment for the computers.
